España – Spain, 1982, Día del SelloSpanish stamps issued to celebrate ‘Stamp Day’ depict an aspect of postal history. Spain’s 1982 issue paid attention to the post code that was being introduced in Spain as part of postal mechanisation since 1981. The stamp shows a map of the island of Tenerife. Its capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, hosted the twentieth annual Exhibición Filatélica Nacional (EXFILNA, National Philatelic Exhibition) from 18 until 26 July 1982. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Isles (Islas Canarias). The Canary Isles are an archipelago of volcanic islands off the coast of Northeast Africa. A perspective of the archipelago appears at the top of the stamp. The lower part of the stamps shows a map of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife of which the island is part. In the lower right corner appears a letter with a fictional post code (Granadilla is a municipality on Tenerife). Issue: Día del Sello, Código Postal Edifil nrs.: 2668 Date of issue: 16 July 1982 Stamp size: 40.9 mm. x 33.2 mm. Perforation gauge: 12¾ Printing process: intaglio and offset lithography Printer: F.N.M.T. Numbers printed: 15,000,000 In the middle of the island of Tenerife rises a volcanic mountain. Its highest peak, Pico del Teide (3,712 m.) is Spain's highest mountain. Inside the caldera, three kilometres from this peak is the Parador de Turismo 'Cañadas del Teide' that has some spectacular views.

As per the Espana Panama Canal stamp that cursus posted on page eight, I just received mine from Spain. Issued on January 2, 2019, the stamp recognizes the widening of the Panama Canal that was completed in 2016. In June of 2018, the Canal Authority widen the locks further to 51.25 meters in order to accommodate "Neopanamax" or "New Panamax" ships with 20 rows of containers. If you count carefully, the container ship on the stamp has 20 rows. The die-cut self-adhesive stamp is embossed with a mark easily seen on the bottom. The stamp was sold for 70c on day of issue. From a set of stamps issued by China in 2023 to celebrate Mao's 130 th birthday, this one where he is standing next to a world map. Note the peculiar choice of projection, with China in the center, of course, but de-emphasizing the polar territories and focusing on Africa:

I received some stamps from Belgium and on the cover was this attractive 1989 Treaty of London 150th Anniversary stamp. The Treaty of 1839 resulted in the official recognition of the Kingdom of Belgium. With that, Belgium received Limburg province (yellow) from Luxemburg and the Netherlands received Dutch Limburg province (orange). Scott: 1327 A574

Just a small historical correction: As a result of the Treaty of London, the independence of Belgium and Luxembourg, both of which previously belonged to the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, was recognized under international law. In this treaty, the former Dutch province of Limburg was also divided between the Netherlands and Belgium. At the same time, it was confirmed that a large part of the former Luxembourg now belonged to Belgium. This is the now Belgian Province of Luxembourg, which is located in the south-east of Belgium. Thanks for this excellent information rednaxela. Considering everything that led up to the treaty, Belgium received a really good deal.
