I just happened to notice this morning that the bottom stamp (Scott #1379) appears to be missing some ink? It's not a thin or damage to the front, and it appears that something may have been on the die or paper during printing. It's sort of hard to say really but what's your opinion on it? Thank you. -Jeff

Those kinds of print flaws are perfect targets for close spying with a digital microscope. You can zoom in close enough to see the individual dots of halftone printing, you can see paper fibres, etc. Besides, a digital microscope is fun for all kinds of things - looking at different kinds of cloth, fingerprints, dead insects (!), currency, whenever I get mine out I end up spending time looking at all sorts of random things.

I'd like to get one of those actually. I often times see those in the lighthouse book and always wanted to experiment with those but I could probably find one a little cheaper in price and better quality than Lighthouse. It would also be of enormous help with my coins too. I'll have to keep my eyes open for one.
About this anomaly, it's odd to me that it exists especially on a stamp that used a few different plates for color so it seems logical that at least one other color plate would have left a print if you know what I mean? Must have been an adhesion on the face of the paper stock is all I can think to justify it? I know it isn't worth anything more than postage -no premium but it is an interesting artifact huh?

Very nice....
Gotta say the self adhesive Christmas stamps are in amazing shape.......
Have you checked any of the over-run countries for reverse printing?

Thanks for pointing me to this post & thread, Ryan. I too enjoy seeing these full sheets. Heck, I like common stamps - that's what makes up the bulk of my collection and possibly many others as well.
