Another German influence in Bohemia, though I'm not sure of the timeline. This seems to be a charity stamp for firefighters, and tied to the city of Saaz (now Zatec in the Czech Republic). I've found a few online, but they were not multi-colored, so I can't be sure of what I have.

some more recently acquired German. I love the last one! I saw varying dates for it on the inter-web. 1915. 1920-30. Google translates it as 'Learn games' ...Ok

Google translates it as 'Learn games' ...Ok The town of Erl in Austria has been staging Passion Play productions since the 17th century - that will be the subject of your cinderella. Here's a brief history on the town and its Passion Play. Ryan

Interesting Ryan, thanks. But how do you make the link? Is there a history of these labels in connection with the play?

Just from German-language searches, which refer to the Erl Passion Play productions as "Erler Spiele".

Are your sure, that the second stamp in the first row is for the promotion for Thermal (n?) Bath Bad Harzburg ? The inscription "Nach Canossa geh´n wir nicht !" seems to indicate, that it is for the promotion of the Harzburger Front.A radical right wing political movement, most closely aligned to the Nazi-movement.

The Canossasäule depicted on that cinderella was erected in 1877 to commemorate Germany's resistance to outside forces, primarily the Roman Catholic Church. In 1077, Henry V, the Holy Roman Emperor and King of Germany, travelled to Canossa to seek revocation of his excommunication by Pope Gregory VII. This is known as the Road to Canossa. Henry was successful, but when Pope Gregory supported the challenger to Henry's throne, he again found himself opposing the Church. Gregory excommunicated him again, but Henry defeated his challenger for the throne, invaded Rome, and replaced Gregory with Antipope Clement III. Because of all this, during the later Protestant Reformation, he bacame a symbol for those in Germany seeking to reform the Church. Fast forward to the 1870s, when Germany again found itself in conflict with the Church. This was referred to as the Kulturkampf, or Culture War. During the Kulturkampf, Otto von Bismark famously told the Germans "Nach Canossa gehen wir nicht", or "We will not go to Canossa." Though the Harzburger Front was based in Bad Harzburg and sometimes used Bismark's statement in their propaganda, this stamp far pre-dates the rise of that movement. It's simply commemorating the town and its monument.

One of about a dozen recently acquired German poster stamps that I have been unable to identify. This one is dated 1912 and contains the word(s) "DeutscheFechterSchau" across the top which Google tells me translates to "German Fencing Show". The central design shows a man wearing a suit of armor with his hands resting on what is likely the hilt of a longsword. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help much with your fencing label, other than to offer the hints that the bottom script bits say that the date was on the Pentecost and the location was Munich. Now who can figure out what day was Pentecost Sunday in 1912?

This poster stamp promotes Hermann Popert's Hamburg-based journal The VortruppThe quote at the top of the stamp is from Popert's novel Helmut Harringa, published in 1910, and loosely translates to "I will be a Warrior in the Army of Light." The novel about the German Youth Movement was widely read at the time.

German poster stamp from 1936 promoting the 1200th anniversary of the Abbey, and its forerunners, at Hersfeld. The cross is from the arms of Hersfeld Abbey. From Wikipedia Commons (ID#233120), the Hersfeld Abbey Church which forms the central design of the stamp.

German poster stamp promoting an international exhibition for modern transport means to be held in Berlin during Autumn 1909. I've been unable to find any online reference to such an exhibition being held. International exhibitions were very popular in 1909. There were at least a dozen in different cities/countries The 1909 Berlin exhibition was to display modes of transportation which is probably the subject. Herbst may have had an offshoot of this. They did have a major art exhibition in the fall of 1909. Messe (Trade fair) Frankfurt arranged then and now many of these exhibitions.

This German poster stamp from 1931 appears to be promoting some type of gathering of craftsman from varying trades taking place during the week of March 15-22. Any additional information is welcome.

This German poster stamp from 1931 appears to be promoting some type of gathering of craftsman I don't have specifics on this but it has come up on auction for some good $$ for a Cinderella ($75-$100) It may have something to do with the association emblems on it. The one in the middle appears in some Freemason articles but it is not the standard one. The Nazis banned the organization in 1935 based on earlier thoughts that they may have had a hand in the 1918 surrender of Germany. Anyway, all speculations but it is a good label to have.

Here's a rather nicely dated cancel on a 1934 Propaganda label: Luftschutz ist Selbstschutz; Air (raid) protection is self protection. The slogan at the bottom, "Der Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) erwartet deinen Beitritt", translates roughly to The Reich's Air Raid Association awaits your membership. The implied meaning of the image suggests 'David versus Goliath', or, the lowly bowman against the allied forces.

These arrived today after finding them listed by a US seller. It's a German set of Michelin (Man) Zodiac signs. Londonbus1 had posted an image of an incomplete set of these on another site, which set me off on the hunt for them. According to LB1, these are rather scarce. I hope to meet up with him tomorrow at Stampex in London, so he might be able to give me a little more information. Not in perfect condition, but at least all 12 are there. From what I have seen elsewhere, these were issued in a single pane, which I would imagine would be difficult to find.
