Hello all..... checking in on the recommendation of Philatarium, thanks Dave...
Started collecting about 10 years of age, starting and stopping at different times. Having too much of every type of material, I started selling on Ebay about 10 years ago, after being disillusioned there, l I signed up at (what was) StampWants as user name EclecticCollector. What a different world, the forums were filled with some of the most knowledgeable people having an immense sense of humor and an extremely quick wit, I have ever had the pleasure of (not in person) meeting. I learned so much in such a short amount of time, I count it as a (hobby) life event.
I'm always hoping to meet new and interesting people as I work with the public in my day job and usually a miserable public at that....
There are very few areas of philately I'm not interested in, which is a problem for someone with an attention/focus disorder......right now I'm focused on selling off as much of the accumulation as possible.

Welcome. I look forward to your posts. Several members offer their stamps for sale on this forum with considerable success. I've been a happy buyer, but not yet a seller. I've given away some, and also won a contest for which the prize was 342 stamps. But most of all, I enjoy the lively posts.

welcome rogo.Do you plan to hang on to any thing that maybe sparks your interest?I don't believe I've ever sold ANYTHING ever(not just stamps).I figure I'm a pack rat, when things no longer appeal I usually give them away.

I didn't join just to sell, I really enjoy reading what drives the passions of others..... I believe everyone should go to bed learning about, at least one new thing.

welcome rogo.Do you plan to hang on to any thing that maybe sparks your interest?I don't believe I've ever sold ANYTHING ever(not just stamps).I figure I'm a pack rat, when things no longer appeal I usually give them away. Thank you for the welcome.... um yes, I may have overstated the selling thing. I would be ecstatic to be able to sell 10 items for everyone I keep..... I love it all and my interest change directions often. Big boxes are an addiction.... if I see at least 1/3 of something interesting in an auction, I go for it.
It's always interesting when someone can admit they are a packrat, I say welcome to my world, I can admit it. My wife on the other hand is a packrat and can't admit it, it's hard to watch when see is confronted with reality. It is a blessing to have good organizational skills along with enough room to contain our treasures, I would hate to be on one of those TV shows (don't want anybody touching my treasure, they might steal something).
As far as hanging on to items.... I actively collect Poland, German and Russia related, to a lesser degree some other countries. I don't worry about filling spots.... my binders are a Frankenstein's monster..... Canada, GB and BC I will always keep but don't actively pursue items (at this time).... and anything war related which is my largest holding.

Welcome to TSF, Mike! I have a hard time getting my kids names right.... My kiddos started out with their own names, but at this point they get the first syllable of the other one's name added to the beginning of their own. It could be worse, though. If my mother doesn't get my or my sister's name right on the first try, she just calls us "The Other One".

Funny how that works..... mom dubbed me her sisters name and my sister was called by my name.....

I pretended not to be here by not really being here after I signed up a few months ago. Did I just hijack Mike's intro thread? Wow, I wasn't even trying! I must really be getting good at it. k

Hey there! Welcome to the Forum! Dave's right - this is a very friendly group and very chatty and fun. It's nice to be a member in a few different places - they are all unique and the different mixes of folks give them all a unique flavor. I've found myself spending most of my time here and where I sell of course. The comments here are upbeat, helpful and full of enthusiasm about the hobby which is contagious. And the live chat at the bottom is the only one I've seen - a fun little place to gab about anything. The online auctions are fun - watch for those.
So glad you're here!

Forgot to ask - Mike hold up your hand and point to what part of Michigan you are from (old Michigander joke). I grew up in and around Kalamazoo and worked in Flint. Retired to sunny Florida.
