I hadn't realized this was here, and chanced upon in today and saw some old friends and thought I would stop in and say Hi. I specialize in Panama and Canal Zone Postal History, but dabble in a number of collecting areas.

Welcome, Antonio! I think we've exchanged a comment or two on another board (I can remember the board, but can't remember the subject just now), but have mostly been in the crosstalk.
Anyway, welcome here! I think it's a great place, and please feel free to share anything from your interests that you'd like to. You'll always have an interested audience.

Hello Antonio,
I like that postage due card you posted above...... someone must have mailed a brick to the electric co. Hi Smauggie, welcome to the forum. rogo I think it was common practice for those companies that received large quantities of business reply mail where they paid the postage costs for the postie to just make bundles of the incoming mail with a running total of the postage due and then slap on whatever was the relevant amount on the top envelope/card. I've got some similar type envelopes that have large numbers of postage due stamps applied, way more than any single envelope would ever cost. Just a thought, Rick

The postcard rate was 7 cents at the time I think. So the two postage due meters paid for the business reply mail for 200 postcards. The postcards were sent to customers asking them if they would like to receive a book about how to save electricity.
