What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Found these pairs of Italian stamps with patriot surcharges in the estate lot I am working through. They were issued in 1947 by a group of Italian patriots as a protest against the loss of the territory of Trieste that year. This information was found on Colnect while using the Stamp Finder app.

War of Libya 29th September 1911 - 18th October 1912 I've come across a few of this series before but was very pleased to obtain this imperforate strip of four stamps probably issued in 1911. The middle two reveal the detail, that is, the date and battles during which Italy was able to defeat the Ottoman Empire and acquire Fezzan, Cyrenaica, and Tripoli which would ultimately become Italian Libya.

A page of Italian Cinderellas. The top eight, from 1920, depict two lots of four, both perforated and imperforate in four colours, issued to mark the 400th anniversary of the death of artist Raffaello Sanzio (Raphael). Based on a supposed self-portrait but placed in front of a tapestry. Along the bottom row, we have a poster stamp for Giuseppe Airoldi, a journalist and puzzler who is credited with inventing the forerunner of the crossword in a more simple 4x4 format The circular item was issued for the International Trade Fair in Trieste-Autumn 1920. Finally, a poster stamp for the Cascella Art Show in Pescara, August 1920. This is Basilio Cascella, a graphic designer, illustrator and artist whose motto was "Insist". Three of his sons were also artists/sculptors

This Cinderella must be from the First World War. It depicts soldiers, mainly in silhouette, against a white cross. The wording 'Pugnano i tuoi figliuoli. Attendi, Italia, attendi.' is a quote from the famous 19th century Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi and translates as 'Your sons are fighting. Wait, Italy, wait,' Most interestingly, the postmark, dated 24 7 1919, is French and is from the St Germain-en-Laye Congres De La Paix, the Peace Conference for Austria which ran from 2nd June to 10th September 1919. This led to the Treaty of Saint-Germain, 10 September 1919 (Austria).

A good lot of Italian Cinderellas from a long series called Marche Nationaliste and issued during World War I. I believe that they were issued in sheets of 8 or 10 for each subset. These, mainly, depict soldiers, politicians, industrialists etc.
