thestampforum.boards.net/board/84/new-members-introductionsHi All... I have been retired for a little over a year now and found my way back into stamp collecting by trial and error. I started my retirement out collecting vintage post cards and found myself liking the stamped side better than the one with the pictures on it!!! For the past few years I was saving interesting stamps that came on letters and cards. I would tuck them in an envelope and set them aside. It was nice to have a little stash to kick start my collecting again!! My collection began with US stamps and a few foreign ones. As I spent more time (and money...LOL!!!) on my collection I became fascinated with the Penny Black stamps. I am concentrating on collecting as many examples of foreign Penny Black Anniversary stamps and First Day Covers as I am able to find and afford. In my travels on the internet I found myself attracted to Cinderella and/or Poster Stamps. I feel like J. Thaddeus Toad with a new mania every few months!!! I have promised my grown daughters that I will stick to the Penny Black and Cinderellas and not form any attachments to any NEW manias...LOL!!!! Rolinda I am also a member of the Cinderella Stamps Forum

Hi Rolinda. Welcome to the Stamp Forum! Please post up some of your Penny Black collection when you get a chance. I'd be interested in seeing all of the different anniversary stamps you have found so far.

Thanks Everyone so much for the warm and accepting welcome!!
( It sure beats the lukewarm attempts at enthusiasm I get from my two daughters when I excitedly tell them how that 1870 Queen Victoria 1.5d RoseRed Plate 1 that I paid under six dollars for is actually 144 years old...LOL!! )
To JenB & FirstFrog2013: I will be happy to post some of my Penny Black Anniversary and Cindy favorites soon.
Rod222: OMG....I loved the Aboriginal Penny Black cindys you posted!!!! I immediately put them on my must have list!!!

Welcome to TSF Rolinda Plenty of Cindy collectors here and a few penny black collectors as well . Be careful of some of the members, they can and will lead you astray. Many members came here with just one or two collecting interest and now are collecting stuff they never thought they would, just ask Frog
