Hello, My name is Robert and this is my introductory post. I started collecting stamps many years ago when I was about 8 years old. I collected and bought just about anything but focused more on the U.S., Lithuania, the German States of Bavaria and Danzig . My grandfather would take my brother and I to a monthly card show in New Jersey at the Mallard Motor Lodge and I have a lot of great memories from that time in my life. He also took us to a couple of larger shows. I think one was called SEPAD. Those were some really great times. In my late teenage years, my collecting habits changed towards baseball cards. I have been collecting / dealing in Sports cards since. Even though I do not collect cards any longer, I do buy to resell and still have an extensive collection. I married when I was 33 and I recently discovered my old stamp collection. I think I will be collecting again and focusing on collecting stamps from Lithuania. My Grandfather's Uncle was M.K. Ciurlonis, a famous poet, artist, and composer. That is why my interest in Lithuania. I will also be downsizing my stamp collection by selling here if it allowed and ebay along with other stamp forums. I hope to make a few friends here and I hope I can contribute something positive to this community. Thanks for reading. Robert

Welcome to the forum, Robert! Searched for your famous Grand Uncle (M. K. Čiurlionis) and found this interesting page on a site dealing with art history on stamps. Beautiful paintings and some very nice issues from Lithuania commemorating his work.

Hey Thanks for the link. I never saw that page before. Looks like I may be missing a couple of his stamps. I do have the souvenir sheet as a first day of issue though. My dream would be to one day find a signed item by him. A bank note, or whatever. That would be really cool to find. Thanks again, Robert
