Note: My "KITTY" Postmark, is an example of an "Skeleton" Postmark.
Askphil:
Skeleton handstamp: a date handstamp made so that loose type could be inserted.

At first sight very dodgy. Cannot find anything to disprove it. 1862 - 1865 Sc#33 24c Type A5 CV : $875 / $80 (torn so perhaps a few bob) P12½ Thin Paper (This makes it 1863) Copies are found on Pelure Paper Damus petimusque vicissim was the motto of British Guiana before Independence Day 1966. It is a Latin phrase which translates into English as "We give and take in return." Current motto is: One People, One Nation, One Destiny.

1931 series SC 205-209 I would consider the 2cent one to be a depiction errorA right hand bow should be drawn with the left foot forward not the right as it greatly restricts the ability to draw properly my credentials you ask - Past certified instructor with FITA (now WA) & Kyudo practitioner.

Hi rod222, where is the list of BG postmarks orginally from, that you cite at pbbooks? Thanks so much. I've enjoyed viewing your pics of BG, which is mainly what I collect.

floradd , you probably didn't notice that rod222 is an inactive member who likely will not be responding to your question.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

There are only 2 threads for British Guiana but this was the one with most recent activity so I will share this new to me early stamp here. This era can be tricky because of paper differences and perforations. This one was listed on eBay as a Scott 20 mint with original glue hinged with a very high CV. It appears all bidders were like me and were cautious with the closing bid being at less than 10% of the listed CV. Sc. 20 is supposed to be on thick paper and Sc. 26 is thin paper. As I prepared to mount the stamp and looked at it closely it was obviously on thin paper which I do not have. Sc. 31 is on thin paper but with 12 1/2 X 13 perforation. I needed that as well. Perforations on these stamps are always a bit ragged but upon checking I am pretty certain that what I have bought is the Sc. 31. All is good but I have let the seller know their error. I suggested a minor adjustment on the selling price but I am fine if they do not agree. NOTE: The seller issued me a 18.00 US partial refund for the listing error. Great customer service.
