Traditional maximaphily "prohibits" multiview postcards used for maxicards. But my non-traditional maximaphily includes traditional maximaphily as one of the options. You can choose to follow, or not, any maximaphily "rule", when it comes to creating and collecting for your own pleasure. I like this maxicard from Brazil, because the 2 views are very relevant and concordant to the subject of the stamp. Also, I am not bothered that there are 2 different postmarks, instead of only one. Oxford Dictionary: "Arms": Pictorial design used by a noble family, town, university, etc.
Note: the Pope is the head of the Vatican State. His status is not lower of that of a king.

Thanks! I thought I had done this one...
Faroese cuisine maxi-card, cancelled on the day of issue, April 26, 2016. Hanging from the left... hares, whale meat strips, guillemots, intestines, cod's heads, dried fish, and dried sheep meat. In the front... beets, sheep stomach and tallow, and potatoes.
Yum, yum, the diet on an island far away for most everyone!

On the RSA Giveaway thread: Thank you, Pete! Of course, ideally the postcard of a maxicard should not be simply an enlargement of the stamp image, but hey! I'll pm you. If you look closely at the card Peter posted, the card is not an enlargement of the stamp image, but one that is quite similar.

Eight Maximum cards from Switzerland celebrating the centenary of the Gotthard Railway Tunnel in 1982. Commemorative stamps, in 2 designs, postmarked on the first day of issue 18th February 1982 each with an additional Frama stamp. Philswiss postcards.
Multiple postmarks for Ambri, Biasca, Airolo, Faido, Wassen (Ur), Erstfeld, Hospental and Amsteg, presumably all on the Gotthard Railway line.

You are right, of course. But it amounts to "walking away on a technicality". A better postcard is not "a slight modification of the stamp image", but "a different perspective or illustration of the subject". That should be the aim of a maxicard, usually. Sure, there are exceptions. A painting might be worth enlarging. On the RSA Giveaway thread: Thank you, Pete! Every philatelic group, of any kind, could benefit from a modern approach to marketing in social media, in order to spark and maintain interest from target demographics. Viral threads would really make a website busy. You cannot expect future success without incorporating the current "triggers" that make the world tick nowadays. The philatelic rules and expectations from the past have to "adapt, improvise and overcome". Also, to "experiment, excite and encourage the move to action". I kept making such efforts with my non-traditional maximaphily. There are 1,831 members in my Facebook group, of which a good percentage have become interested in various maximaphily activities, with or without "rules".

I don't know if it can be considered a maximum card, or perhaps a self made carton with a first day cancel. It has been made by a friend of mine, among others, not to sell them, just to make gifts to friend (and i have been one of them). I find it pretty, clean, elegant. I don't collect these cards, but this will remain in my collection...

The cachet/image on that card is smaller than what purists would want, but hey! You enjoy it, regardless of anything some might say!

Maxicard, made in Barcelona in June 1976. There, you can see:
.- A turistic postcard, issued by Zerkovitz company of Barcelona between 1971 and 1976, showing the moument to the battle of Lepanto (17/10/1571) fought between "The Holy Alliance" and the Turks. The monument stands in front of Barcelona's old shipyard and shows a model of the Christian flagship which was built there.
.- The stamp, issued by Spain in 1971 to commemorate the victory of Lepanto, shows a scene of the battle.
.- the postmark bears a portrait of Lluis de Requesens i Zúñiga (Barcelona, 25/8/1528 - Brussels, 5/3/1576), who was the effective comander of the Christian navy. Postmarked at Barcelona just on the year of the 400th aniversary of the sailor's death.
As an anecdote, this maxicard was done by a heir of Lluis de Requesens: Jordi Campderós i Requesens (Barcelona, 1941-2021), a late good friend of mine. Just, bought today.

I know it is just a regular card produced by the Greenland post for the flag raising Stamp FDC, but the 3 elements at least are different , not just a copy of the stamp on the same card

Another way to promote your interest(s) in philately, such as maximaphily, is by writing articles on Quora, Medium, etc. For example, my first story on Medium: link.medium.com/FC0Z5lD1Pkb

I think that these are almost really fine examples of Maximum Cards. USA Captain Cook stamps, Scott 1733 and 1732, issued on 20th January 1978 marking the 200th anniversary of his visits to Alaska and Hawaii. The First Day of Issue postmarks are from Honolulu, Hawaii and Anchorage, Alaska. The postcards are printed in England for Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO), specifically for The National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London. I say almost because the Honolulu cancelled card actually depicts the Resolution and Adventure at Tahiti. Captain Cook's two ships at anchor in Matavai Bay during his second voyage 1772-1775. Painting by William Hodges.

Yes, daniel, nice items. If those Tahiti vessels have no VISUAL connection whatsoever with Captain Cook, then I could consider that the concordant element is "sailship", as a means of transportation. But that could be viewed as an abstract concept, in a FIP-maximaphily exhibition, and thus not "earning jury points". Or, I could consider that the Tahiti postcard shows ships or landscape that ARE connected with Captain Cook, if they are, indeed. Cook visited Tahiti. www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2019/07/08/captain-james-cook-legacy

Thanks dorincard. I've now added the reverse of the cards. So, the Honolulu postmarked card does indeed have a good Captain Cook connection, depicting two of his ships, The Resolution and Adventure in the distance during his second voyage, 1772-1775.

I plan to use postmarked stamps, not just mint stamps, for "maxicard ideas", temporarily superimposing a stamp on a "postcard", for philatelic and general cultural discussion. Even philosophical discussion, in some cases, about the meaning of such visual messages/metaphors. Short storytelling.

Yes, someday I'd like to post a giveaway of maxicard(s). Maximaphily is still not popular in USA, and in most other countries...
Also, I'd love to contribute, somehow, with maxicard(s) to those who collect some themes or topics.
Moreover, I can show "y'all" how to create your OWN maxicards for your beloved themes or topics. Even if they would be non-compliant with all the "rules" of traditional maximaphily. The point is that YOU should have fun with philately, in your home, as you like.

In honour of World Penguin Day 2022 (25 April), here is a maxicard that celebrates these unusual-feather creatures,
This 1956 air mail stamp design for the French Southern and Antarctic Territories depicting a rookery of Emperor ( Aptenodytes forsteri) penguins was designed by Robert Cami and one of his most striking designs (although I may be biased). For more on the stamp engravings by this artist, cast your eyes here - Robert Cami, Stamp Engraver.
Have fun and happy collecting!

Nice! It would have been even better if the stamp image were not a "derivative work" of the postcard image.
