Hello everyone, Thought I'd introduce myself as I just joined today. Like a lot of people I have just returned to stamp collecting after a (very!) long time away from the hobby. I aim to be collecting Queen Victoria (England) and have made a sort of start by joining an approvals service and making an initial purchase at Universal Philatelic Auctions. Also of course, doing some searches on the web and reading people's blogs. This is a HUGE site and I have yet to have a good search but it is something I am very much looking forward to. Tregeor

Welcome to the Forum! I did a search on the phrase "Queen Victoria" and it returned quite a few posts that might be of interest to you. If you're not successful using the Proboards search function (labeled "Search" in the menu bar, Admin has added a Google search function that focuses solely on the forum' content (TSF Google Search).

Welcome I also collect QV and you will find very helpful members that are very knowledgeable in that area, a few are on summer hiatus at the moment but when the wind and snow starts to blow they will here. By the way I edit your post for font size. When you start a post or thread there is no need to choose a font size. What area of QV are you concentrating on, I have a love of Maltese Cross cancels, this alone keeps me busy Thanks for the kind words about the forum being huge, we only started it a couple of years ago and we have grown nicely. If you find a thread that intersts you please add to it, We have a culture that may be different to other forums, we don't get upset and always try to be friendly and helpful.

UPA are good, I used them a lot some years ago until I moved over to the 'dark side'.
Good luck and have fun at TSF.

Thanks for the replies everyone and ta for sorting the font size out for me! Admin, I am basically going to try and get an example of every English Queen Victoria (used in England I mean) stamp and in addition I'm thinking of doing a Jubilee section that would include other countries too. However, at the moment I'm going to stick to England but I do like the idea of a 'bigger' Jubilee collection... Thanks to Tomiseksj for the signpost to info on Victoria I'll follow that up after I finish this post. Londonbus1 I really like UPA 'cos of the catalogue they do and the fact they send you details of how the previous auction went. The descriptions of the stamps are accurate too and I love the fact that if a stamp isn't sold the price is reduced and it comes back to the next auction. I'm guessing your move to the 'dark side' is to e-bay but have I got that totally wrong?! Thanks again for the replies and now I'm off to follow up Tomiseksj's search ideas.

Well yes, I stopped collecting Postage Stamps to concentrate solely on Cinderellas.
