Looks like mail service from Costa Rica is starting back up. I won these in an auction on May 1, 2020, and they arrived today, October 7, 2020. I had chalked them up to pandemic casualties, and am glad they did in fact arrive. On the left is Scott No. 291, now Colibri cyanotus (Lesser Violetear) and on the right Scott No. 292, now known as Pygochelidon cyanoleuca (Blue-and-white Swallow).

This week, I received an order to complete my set of France personalized stamps from the early 2000s. These were stamps with a se-tenant vignette that could be adorned with a photograph or design provided by the customer. Here is the "Best Wishes" stamps issued for New Year 2004:

Also received today, this nice block from Tristan da Cunha showcasing the Inaccessible Island Rail: I understand the name Inaccessible Island comes from the fact that the island's shoreline is all cliffs and the first explorers could find no way to set foot on it.

Yesterday I received in the mail from vikingeck the South African JIPEX sheets from our Zoom Auction. He added to them a holiday card to subscribers from the Swedish post featuring the high value Falco Rusticolus issue from 1981, even if postmarked in 1986. So, for that, a big virtual thank you hug!

Here one of the latest additions to the rookery, this 1995 block of four from Argentina is a rather fanciful depiction of the King Penguin (Aptenodytes patagonica),
Michel n.º 2253A : Argentina Fauna Series
With four million issued it is far more common than the booklet version, but I do like the printed selvedge...
Happy collecting!

This souvenir sheet along with the accompanying singles showcase the Penguin and its different species as issued by Somalia(?), Somalia 2001 Penguins - Souvenir Sheet Michel n.º 872
Adelie Penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae) ( Michel n.º 868)
King Penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) (Michel n.º 870)
African Penguin (Spheniscus demersus) (Michel n.º 869) Southern Rockhopper Penguin (Eudyptes chrysocome) (Michel n.º 871)
but all is not as it may appear with these fine-feathered friends, these are perhaps illegal stamps and were in fact not authorised for pre-payment of postal services by the Somalian government.
Given the restrictions on exhibiting, a desire to have appropriate material & clearly labelled material in the collection, or simply not wanting to be part of the 'Illegal Wildlife Trade', how would one display these ore similar items on one's album page? Just wondering...
Happy collecting!

In the order was also a packet of stamps from the British Indian Ocean Territory. These will be my first stamps from BIOT. Here is a nice bird, Dicrurus aldabranus, from 1975: Not sure in which stock book I will put them. The Yvert&Tellier catalog puts BIOT among African nations, since it used to depend from the Seychelles and is now claimed by Mauritius, but for me it is more part of the Indian sub-continent, i.e. Asia.
