Thank you for accepting my membership request. I have been collecting on and off for almost 40 years. I returned to my collection earlier this year with a renewed focus on what got me back into collecting stamps as an adult. I enjoy ancient history, and would have very much liked to have been able to collect seals and bullae, but collecting such things are beyond my means. Stamps are somewhat similar, in that they authorize the mail to be carried, and so stamps became my collecting joy. I enjoy covers and postcards as well, and I am currently seeking the following: Correspondence between anthropologists/archaeological institutions/dig sites etc.... Cubs Baseball & Wrigley Stadium (Stamps/Covers/Postcards/Ephemera). Manned Stratospheric Balloon Flights (Stamps/Covers/Postcards/Ephemera). BUTZBACH: pre-WWII German stamps, (covers and postcards) with 'Butzbach' written in the cancel. The Moody Blues on stamps.

Welcome. If you are starting study groups, I bet you must have the ability to scan, so don't be shy about sharing some of your collections. Everyone likes looking at stamps. And bullae (?) Yeah, probably... Lots to see here.

No, but those are cool! Another term that comes into play with this theme is 'stamp impressions', but I haven't used that term because it probably means something else as well. It has been tricky for me to word this topic without creating confusion. I wrote a very short blog entry about it, just to give others an idea. That, and if you Google bullae with putting the word 'ancient' in front of it, you get an awful surprise. Seals and Bullae

I hope that was alright to do.

I have to learn how to insert pics, as the set up is a bit different here.

Since it has taken me several weeks to hit the 50 post mark, I wanted to make it special by telling you all that it has been an absolute joy being a part of this community. It is not common to encounter so many kind, friendly and generous folks all in the same place. TSF is something special. Thank you for having me here. Peace, Doe
