An often mistaken error is this one: August 7, 1957, many collectors feel that the wrong postage stamp was issued: the traffic light should have the red on top and not the bottom. But, in 1957, the new Highway Code (1960) had not been introduced as yet. The code, among other things, specified that all the traffic lights be as we see them today (red at the top). In 1957 there were still many with red at the bottom.

I don't collect Italy, but I do have this in my collection. I had to have it for the penmanship . I often wonder if you address a letter today in that hand writing would it get delivered? I will do a few more sub forms later today, This thread will then be moved to the Italy sub forum. Busy Today with yard work, off to play a few hours of video games

Very nice cover Jack. Today, the computer would just look for the postcode, the postie for the street and house number, so it would probably be returned to sender

I am still putting together an australian lot for you, unfortunately most of the ones you have mentioned are ones I don't even have a copy, let alone spares. But I will do my best. I noticed that on your site you end on 1989, is that as far as you want to go or would like some stamps from later years?

This stamp has a printing variety that is well known - the housing for the traffic lights is seen in two different types, as is explained on this page: www.italianstamps.co.uk/varieties/trlt.html Ryan

Italy Committente If any members know of a site / link, I can identify or study lists of Italian revenues (Post Forbin) It would be greatly appreciated. All I can do at the moment is to mount them haphazardly. The 50c example, is that not the perfect "socked on the nose" ?
