Hello. My name is Jim Drummond. I'm in the methane-filled corner of the San Fernando Valley, called Porter Ranch.
I have collected all kinds of things over the years. Once I filled a Scott National stamp album with as many U.S. postage stamps as I could afford, I moved on to what is called the "back of the book." This started out with post office seals, revenues, and telegraph stamps. I have since moved even further into the world of the strange and unlisted things that only resemble postage stamps because they are on small pieces of paper. There is almost no area that I wouldn't collect.
I have written four different catalogs that deal with specific and very specialized areas of philately. These books were Official Seals of the World, College and School Stamps, Bank and School Savings Stamps, and Verified Reception Stamps. None of these books are currently available for sale but the APS library has all four.
I am currently working on a three volume catalog of these strange stamps, as well as a two part catalog of Philatelic Exhibition Labels.
Thank you for your time.
Jim

Welcome! We have a healthy interest here in "non-stamp stamps". Some, like Londonbus1 or cindycan2, have extensive knowledge in the area. Others, like me, have extensive piles of dross and act like the proverbial blind chipmunk finding the proverbial acorn as I dig through the stuff (which I then pack up in a garbage box for shipment elsewhere .... ha ha). I can tell from your avatar that you'll have things that interest many of us! Ryan

Is there a way to attach a pdf document to a post? Or just jpg's? Jim Hello Jim, Yes, you can post a *.pdf (link only) We are advert free here, which means we have to host outside the forum, however our image quality is one of the better on the internet. I tried here thestampforum.boards.net/post/36965which was a disaster, the images too large and bulky The downside, is your *.pdf host may only host for a given amount of time but if you want to hand out a *.pdf to members, then it is possible.

Welcome to the forum, Jim! Looking forward to your posts and seeing more of your strange stamps. I'm not a collector of them, but I love any little piece of paper that tells a story.

It sounds like you have some fascinating collecting interests! I love finding new things, but it drives me crazy when I can't identify them! Hopefully seeing parts of your collection will help me and others.
