One feels a right mug, when the very basics don't appear to work. I employ "search" and zeppelin, zep, Zep, Zeppelin brings forth nothing. What may I be doing wrong? Romania 1978 20th March 10 Lei Miniature sheet (US Souvenir sheet) Designer : Vladimir Stoinanov (VLASTO) Issued : 120,000 Perf : Box Perf 13.5 Sc C221 CV : 2013 : ebay $3 Zeppelin LZ 127 over Bucharest 1929 Exist : Beautiful maxicards, all values.

I would have the entire Romanian Air up to about 1990 as Mint. Alas! not individually scanned I can offer pages, but personally, too much in one bite, see what you think. Hope this page is not too big. Testing

Romanian Airmail collecting Royalty
1971 26th July Soyuz 11 Death of Soviet Cosmonauts Perf :13.25 Imperf Designer : Consantinescu Issued : Perf 100,000 Issued Imperf : 12,500
CV : Perf $6 Imperf : $180 Seen : Listed $175, $99, bidded at $69. (Sold 20131018 $56)
Soyuz 11 (Russian: Союз 11, Union 11) was the first and only manned mission to board the world's first space station, Salyut 1 (Soyuz 10 had soft-docked but had not been able to enter due to latching issues). The mission arrived at the space station on June 7, 1971 and departed on June 30, 1971. The mission ended in disaster when the crew capsule depressurized during preparations for re-entry, killing the three-man crew. This accident resulted in the only human deaths to occur in space (as opposed to high atmosphere). The crew members aboard Soyuz 11 were Vladislav Volkov, Georgi Dobrovolski, and Viktor Patsayev. A fine stamp tribute to 3 brave men. Sheet # 11,341

Well there is debate about the plane, I researched the registration code C-RAIU , and it had it registered to a DeHavilland. 1958 20th July Brussels Exhibition : Mentioned in Scott but not listed or priced CV : $20-$100 Watermark 9 (romaniastamps.com) Perf 14 : 14.5 Exist : Inverted Overprint Designers : I Dumitrana and D Stiubei (You can see his signature scribbled bottom of stamp) ( I think Stiubei signed a lot of his designs with a flourished "S" that looks like a "Z" on Romanian Issues) Each sheet of originals (C49-C52) contains 27 Triptychs, with centre row Tete-Beche Each stamp will get 3 Opts (small star, large star, and star with text) Issued 70,022 sets of 3 "Expositia Universala Bruxelles 1958"

Romania 1978 December 18th C230 Designer : Vladimir Stoianov (Vlasto) Perf 13.5 Issued : 120,000 sheets CV : $2 Henri Coanda (The first Jet Plane, 1910) The Coandă-1910 was the first aircraft built with a turbine powerplant which compressed and heated air, and expelled it rearward for thrust. It was constructed by Romanian inventor Henri Coandă and exhibited by him at the Second International Aeronautical Exhibition in Paris in October 1910. In the 1950s, Coandă began to claim that this aircraft was the first jet, and that it flew once and crashed at the French Army airfield Issy-les-Moulineaux on the outskirts of Paris. Some aviation historians agreed, and some disputed his claim. wiki

This should really be a new thread, but I'm not sure how to start a new one. I have a Romanian airmail stamp that I can't find in Scott's. It's listed in Colnect as a 1931 1 leu air post stamp, dark red brown (https://colnect.com/en/stamps/list/country/177-Romania/series/75948-National_Fund_for_Aviation). It's Michel RO Z13 and Stanley Gibbons RO T1217. It's one of three in the National Fund for Aviation series (1 and 2 leu and a 50 ban), all 1931 issues. I can find none of these in the 2009 Scott catalog, in either the air post stamps or the regular issues.
Does Scott sometimes omit certain of the Romania air post stamps?

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

They are postal tax stamps, and from your description I'd betcha they're RA16 through RA18 in Scott. Southeastern Europe - Romania, Greece, Jugoslavia, at least 3 of the post-Jugoslav republics - were really big on postal tax stamps, as alternatives to semi-postals, I guess, though Romania had its share of those in midcentury as well. Romania has one of my favorite unexpected issues, a Romanian Offices in the Turkish Empire Postal Tax stamp (RA1), and I've got a German Occupation of Romania Postal Tax Postage Due stamp (3NRAJ1; think of it as the only stamp with its own license plate). Of those countries, Romania's postal tax stamps are probably the most similar-looking to their standard-postage issues. The word timbrul or, especially, the phrase timbrul de ajutor is a clue about at least some of them. Oh, and welcome to TSF! I forget offhand, but you may need 50 posts to be able to do that anywhere except in New Member Introductions. It's easy to find stuff to talk about around here, so you'll be up to 50 in no time.
