To avoid repetition and because there are (were) multiple posts in each category, I have moved the Birds from this topic to this one: thestampforum.boards.net/thread/36/birds-on-stampsPosts with both Animals AND birds have been left here in the 'Animal' topic, and the lisag's title changed accordingly. Hope this is satisfactory to all who have contributed. Londonbus1

African? They are two of the 1995 'domestic cats' stamps issued by Royal Mail. They were in an African album. Are you saying they are Great Britain. All I’m doing is transferring the same from one old file to another. Here is a page I took it from. It is north west Africa British.

It is north west Africa British. These, like the 1992 'Columbus' stamp you posted in the 'ships' thread, all are British stamps. They are recognisable as British stamps by the lack of a country name and the cameo of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II. Edit: If you look at the cancellation on the right of the two cats stamps, you will see 'Tonbridge.' The stamp was cancelled in Tonbridge, Kent.

I do not understand 'northwest Africa British.' If any part of the world has not been British, it is Northwest Africa. There were British post offices for international mail in Morocco. The last one, in Tangier, closed in 1957.
