I am currently researching the postal history of Mexico for my site www.stampworldhistory.com/. And, I am looking for information on the stamps issued during the period of the Mexican Revolution 1913-1916. I know the most important resource would be Nicholas Follansbee's 'Stamps of the Mexican Revolution 1913-1916', but that is only available in hardcopy - and somewhat beyond my budget. Does anybody know good online resources on the subject?

Steve
Thanks. Do you get access to the full text? I just get a few snippets and that's it.

I can see the entire book while in the link. Have you tried to download the PDF?
Update: I've just sent you a .pdf of the text as an attachment to an email. It is 3.4MB so I'm not sure it will get through to you.

It is an interesting read, but it seemed to have more of a slant than many of the old-time resources. When I was looking for background on a Sonora example from revolutionary Mexico, that book had the most information that I found, but a lot of it seemed like he was defending the issue that his company had printed, and not entirely convincingly. I don't think I've posted it here before, so this is probably as good a spot as any: It sounds like Linn was sent some proposed designs, made up this one, and sent 75,000 samples of it back to Mexico, most in one color, but some in other colors as samples for additional values. Those sales never came to be. If you find any other resources, I'd appreciate it if you could circle back and add them here. I'd be interested to see more.

Gerben,
A great effort and one that will serve collectors of Mexico stamps well! I'm glad you found the document to be of some help.

SWH: The entire text of Follansbee's book The Stamps of the Mexican Revolution:1913-1916 is available for downloading as a PDF file from the website of the Collectors Club of Chicago, see the following link. You will have to scroll down a ways as they have a number of their previously published books available here as well. CCC Digital LibraryYou might also want to check out the MexiMail Forum, which has a format similar to The Stamp Forum Board.MexiMail
They have several areas where there are older threads on these stamps and you can also post questions there.
MexiMail has a loose affiliation with MEPSI, the Mexico Elmherst Philatelic Society International, the primary group for the stamps and postal history in the United States, and which has an international following. Their website can be found here. MEPSI

Steve--If possible, could you email me your pdf of "The War Stamps of Mexico"? I think my email address is available to the Forum, otherwise I can supply it. I have some of the other revolution-era literature, but not that one. Big thanks! --Alec
