Here is what I think to be an interesting pair of covers,
These two Soviet-era stationery covers appear almost identical. However, the paper looks different and the text along the bottom showing the issue date, number, etc. has one with a straight 'M' (lower image) and the other slanted as part of registration - 'M-45968'. Additionally, the overall font on the top one appears bolded, whilst the other is finer and crisper.
If anyone has any further details or catalogue references, please do share...
Have fun and happy collecting!

In researching the covers shown in the above post with help from past articles found in the "Ice Cap News", the journal of the American Society of Polar Philatelists, one would come to learn that the stationery is the official expedition service covers for the Arctic/Antarctic Scientific Research Institute, Government committee for Hydrometeorological services ( ААНИИ ГОСКОМГИДРОМЕТА). With only one design for each year, these are from the 30th Soviet Antarctic Expeditions (SAE) and issued on 15.11.84 with only 15.000 copies printed.
Additional details are as follows:
Top 31st Soviet Antarctic Expedition – Postmarked - Molodezhnaya 13.02.86 R/V Prof. Zubov (Зубов) - ship cancel in purple
Bottom 30th Soviet Antarctic Expedition Postmarked - Molodezhnaya 21.02.85 shown also Mirnny datestamp with date slugs removed and replaced by SAE n.º '30'
The niggling issue is still, the appearance of the two different font types in use for the bottom text of each cover.
Any addition comments or insights are welcomed...
Have fun and happy collecting!

In addition to the R/V Prof. Siedlecki cover shown in the "Poland: 1976 Modern Aviation definitives" here, this is another early cover from the same ship,
Cancelled on-board the R/V Prof. Siedlecki 29 August 1977, "SEA FISHERIES INSTITUTE GDYNIA POLAND" as part of the 2nd Krill Expedition from 1976-1977. In addition to the postmark, other marks and cachets include:
- oval mark with text SECOND POLISH KRILL EXPEDITION 1976-77, SEA FISHERIES INSTITUTE, GDYNIA - MORSKI INSTITUT RYBACKI W GDYNIA (one of two known types) - H. ARTOWSKI station mark
Beginning with the early days of Antarctic exploration, from the Belgian Antarctic Expedition of 1898, Poland and the Polish scientific community have been active in the region...
Have fun and happy collecting!
