As part of a 'Flag day' street appeal, the Scottish Branch of the British Red Cross Society organized a Highland and Lowland Regiments' Badge Day on June 19th, 1915.
A number of souvenirs were produced including 'fold-over' Flags that had the Red Cross symbol on one side and Regimental badges on the other in a set of 10. My search for these elusive items has always been fruitless but I did find a very attractive alternative !
Issued at the same time were Se-Tenant sheets of labels showing those same Regimental Badges with relevant inscriptions and the Red Cross symbol. These can be found perforated 10 or 12 or a combination of the two. The Se-Tenant block below shows 12 Badges and included are 2 Regiments that are not specifically Scottish, The Army service Corps and the Royal Army Medical Corps. I believe these could have been added for a number of reasons, not least to make the Se-Tenant block more pleasing to the eye .

I will cover these sheets and the event more thoroughly in the British Stamp Exhibitions thread but I thought a pic here would not go amiss. Funds were needed for the war effort and what better way to raise funds at a Stamp Exhibition than to produce beautiful-looking souvenirs for sale to the public.
A Red Cross can be seen on each of the 6 labels on these Waterlow Sheets.

Here are 24 different Norway Red Cross stamps, generally 1920s to 1950s, which I recently sold on eBay. I have 3 additional sets, as I started with blocks and pairs. See them at tinyurl.com/yb72z9v5

It would be better for the membership if you could upload the original image -- the image remaining in the ended ebay listing provides insufficient detail of the stamps.

Steve, I have wasted an immense amount of time trying to Upload. I can "add," but even with your instructions, I cannot make the software upload. Regarding the eBay image, you can click on the white rectangle (like you do on eBay itself) and it will enlarge 4x (I tried it). I am running Windows 7 Professional. Help appreciated.

If you'd send me a PM describing what process you are following when trying to upload I'll see if I can help get things straightened out. With regard to the image, when I click on the listing I'm directed to your current listing for the 1955 NORWEX FDC.

The Norwex is eBay's "idea" of what I really wanted - they are wrong 98.8% of the time. When I click, I get my listing which ended July 1. I will PM you, Steve, later today.

Mr. Bus. Your Jamaican aeroplane label above was issued (that version, there were four) in March 1916 by a group called the Jamaican War Stamp League (later called the Jamaican Patriotic Stamp League) originally to raise money for the Red Cross, to create a Jamaica Aeroplane Fund, and raise money for the relief of Polish Jews. But you may already know this. Perhaps, and this is just conjecture, the two labels directly above from Grenada and BH (British Honduras?) are from similar organizations on those islands? Just a thought.

Few more Red Cross Labels, a couple which are still a mystery. (But I am working on it) Perhaps B H is British Honduras, as it's within the same Caribbean basin area; its local printing capabilities probably quite primitive in that era. From 1891 to 1922, British Honduras never issued a 4c stamp, thus avoiding an issue with the Post Office. Or maybe the printer charged by the letter. Does this look like linoleum-block printing to anyone who knows about printing?

From the Tide Water Company, producers of many US Poster stamps including the mammoth 'Let's get Associated' series. Below is an example of a real Wartime Poster but in miniature, one of many for which albums were produced. Very attractive series, very patriotic. This one, No.49 in the series and drawn by Walter Beach Humphrey shows the Junior Red Cross from an Original Poster by the American Red Cross.

More Delandre Red Cross Delandre's (Gaston Aime Camille Fontanille) undoing was due to these stamps. He accepted a contract to produce these stamps for the various Red Cross committees. The funds from the sale were primarily to go to the committees, he failed to do so and was ultimately jailed. Although Delandre was the chief architect, he had many aspiring artists who worked for him, hence the great varieties of "Delandre" creations. In many cases the stamps have the name of the actual artist as with the last group shown

I guess this belongs here I guess I got a bit sentimental after the strike mail posting, as this sombre-looking label was from Clive's (Anping) collection.

These landed on my desk yesterday. Another good-looking Red Cross item. They really got the message across with some immaculate designs. 2 scans.........Tell you why later ! (You can tell which scan you prefer if you wish)

Apparently the International Red Cross and its affiliates had a lot to do with (or were featured on) plenty of fundraising labels....I thought I would cross-post this recent Cinderella addition (my first from Australia) as it seems to fit the thread!

I did notice that the second (bottom) scan was just a wee bit tilted, compared with the first (top) scan. Or am I missing something else!?!

jimwentzell........Yes, the second image was from the gift I received from my thoughtful daughter & Boyfriend yesterday. It was a test run and need to do more. Thanks for the feedback. I like the Red Cross fund labels from Australia but they always seem to go to such high prices and I have never been able to add them to my collection. One day.......... In the meantime, I do have these reproductions !

Many Philatelic & Numismatic Exhibitions have been held in Gracia over the years. When I visited Catalonia last August I stayed in a Hotel in Gracia and on my walks around the narrow streets and picturesque squares, I saw a good number of 'deals' going on, most often between elderly gentlemen who would be swapping Cards and old envelopes on street corner Cafes. Such lovely scenes, lovely atmosphere. The sheet below, which also comes in a shade of Dark Blue, was produced for an Exhibition in August 1960 with the proceeds going to the local Red Cross.
