I do not actively pursue postcards, but over the years I have accumulated many, mostly from the early to mid 20th century. I'll be sharing some of my favorites (some for the depicted image, some for the cancels/stamps, some for the content of the message). Since I am more interested in stamps, once I have a scan in my database, the physical card is superfluous, and if you see one you like, I'd love to trade it, or if you have nothing of interest to me, I will usually send it your way regardless.
Capitol Island, Maine: small island off the east coast of Southport, Maine. The post office is no longer in existence. Vintage divided back postcard with an August, 1909 cancel.
Passaic, New Jersey: A view of Lexington Avenue. Divided back card with a March 23, 1910, Passaic, NJ cds
Atlantic City, New Jersey: Hotel Traymore. Divided back card with a July 13, 1916, Atlantic City cancel
Newark, New Jersey: A view of the boathouse at Weequahic Park circa 1915. Divided back card with a May 24, 1916, Newark, NJ cancel
Plainfield, New Jersey: A view of Wetumpka Falls. Undivided back card with an October 2, 1906 Rahway, NJ cancel and an October 3, 1906 Lewiston, Maine received cancel
More later...

Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MassachusettsIn honor of zipper for all of her great vintage postcard posts and bobby1948 , who started this thread, I would like to post an image, too. This one is significant to me, as MIT is my alma mater, although it is many years long since in the rear-view mirror! Subsequent to making this original post, I learned from Anping that this image is from the 1920s. The campus as shown is certainly much less developed than what it was when I was there in the late 1970s. I should also admit that this is a reprint which was sent to me by the MIT Alumni Association several years ago. I am not a postcard collector per se, but if I ever see one of these originals, I would certainly want it for my own!

Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MassachusettsLooking at the image, I would guess that this one is from the 1940s, but perhaps zipper knows better how to date these postcards. The campus as shown is clearly much less developed than what it was when I was there in the late 1970s. I should also admit that this is a reprint which was sent to me by the MIT Alumni Association several years ago. The original dates from around the mid 1920's.

I have now updated the original post to reflect the correct time period.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MassachusettsThis beautifully franked and postmarked genuine example was a gift to me from my good friend, Anping! I can't thank you enough, my friend. I am very, very proud to have this card as part of my collection.
