Just recently, I made a nice find of this 1917 Colombian Special Delivery multiple. It is now the largest known multiple of this scarce stamp. One of the top experts of the stamp had estimated that there are no more than 130 copies but he was not counting this piece. Scott has just recently figured out it's scarcity. 10 years ago the Scott cat value was $1.00, now it is $60.00. I believe it will settle around $100.
Nice to be able to edit, see below

That is quite something. I bet Colombia collectors the world over are wishing you would break that up.

A very impressive multiple. Whenever I see a Colombia collection on eBay or in an online auction, I check if there is an E1. Practically never is.

CJD Thanks, those guys will have to wait as I will not be the one to break it. When I spotted it in an auction I about fell out of my chair. The reserve was only $250 and it did not receive a bid. I was trying to low ball it and see if $170 would take it but no response. I had to contact them after the auction to get it. I hated to even low ball it but that's a good chunk of change to me. Not sure how long it will take but I'll get $2,000 for it someday.
1840to1940 Good to see you here! This board is really hoppin, hope it keeps up pleasantly. I think I told you a couple weeks ago it was a post on your blog that raised my attention to the item.

While I can imagine counter-arguments, I wouldn't break the piece up either. With no more than 100 or so possibly in existence, most collectors won't own one, regardless of whether you break it up or not. Surely, there is a collector of Colombia or Latin America who would love to own a showpiece like this. I guess the question is how to get the message out to all interested parties that such a block exists?

Ten years on, you'd think the delivery boy would be all grown up by now. I'm adding my new acquisition to this ancient thread because we have a lot of new members who have probably never seen the stunning multiple, above. Here's my sad little singleton:
