The Mercedes-Benz Superdome formerly known as the Louisiana Superdome is part of the DNA of Louisiana. Known affectionately as "The Dome" to us down here it's a great source of pride to south Louisianians and the site of many events over the course of it's lifetime including the 1988 Republican National Convention, an address in 1987 by Pope John Paul II, numerous sporting events and the site of tragedy and despair in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I myself have witnessed dozens of New Orleans Saints football games, a pair of Sugar Bowls including the 2007 BCS National Championship game, a bevy of trade shows as well as having seen the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Paul McCartney concerts. Down here we love paying a visit to The Dome!
