27th November (1940) Bulgaria, Scott #361, 2-lev rose red, issued to commemorate the return of Dobrujda from Romania and postmarked on this date in 1940, probably in the Province of Sliven. There is also a town by the same name, but I am guessing that since the name SLIVEN appears in the lower portion of the CDS, it is more likely the province name than the town name, but that is only a guess. The 2-lev stamp, the 2nd value in set of 4, depicts Flags over Wheat Fields and Tsar Boris III.

28th November (1905) Portugal, Scott #112, 10-reis light green with black numeral definitive stamp depicting King Carlos, postmarked on this date in 1905. The postmark reads CORR o E TEL o, which translates as "postage and telegraph", but a city name is either illegible or not indicated.

A couple from me today. First off is this one that was postmarked on this day in 1979, in Cannes.
France, 1979. Scott 1680. Commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Ecole Centrale Des Artes Et Manufactures. Then last year on this date, an envelope was mailed to me from Kansas City, MO. I always appreciate it when folks use older stamps. And now the cover immortalized on the internet. Perhaps the original sender will stumble across it someday. (I think it was an eBay purchase.)

29th November (1907) Belgium, Scott #62, 2-centime brown violet definitive stamp, depicting the Belgian Coat of Arms, with "No Sunday Delivery" label attached (with 1mm high ornamental bands at the top and bottom of the label, making it design A27 rather than A32), postmarked on this date in 1907 in the town of Soignies. Interestingly, this stamp was issued in 1894, so this usage comes 13 years later, after it was probably already replaced by a look-alike issue that same year (1907). About the location from Wikipedia: "Soignies (French name; Zinnik is the Dutch name) is a Walloon municipality located in the Belgian province of Hainaut. The municipality is composed of the town of Soignies together with the villages of Casteau, Chaussée-Notre-Dame-Louvignies, Horrues, Neufvilles, Naast, and Thieusies. Casteau is known worldwide because SHAPE, the military headquarters of NATO, has been based at the village since 1967. The name of Soignies comes from the Latin word 'suniacum', which means 'on the Senne'. The spring of the Senne is near Soignies. After Soignies, the river passes through Brussels. Soignies is also well known for its blue limestone (from the Carrières du Hainaut) and its glass industry (Durobor)."

30th November (1909) Tasmania, Scott #103, one-penny carmine typographed, from the third iteration of the famous pictorial issue, watermarked crown over double-lined A, depicting Mount Wellington and postmarked in Hobart on this date in 1909. To new TSF member @bookman1, here you see yet another example of a postmark on a stamp of the Tasmania pictorial issue. If you take a look through this thread, you will find some other nice examples posted over the past 6 months or so. Happy hunting!

2nd December (1937) Canada, Scott #223, 10-cent carmine rose, issued on 1st June 1935 to honor the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, postmarked on this date in 1937. Despite a clear strike of the date in the CDS, the city name is difficult to decipher. It appears to me that it may start with "NO" and end with "NDA" or "NOA". There are only traces of the province name, so no help there. If anyone has an idea about the city name, I will be glad to revise the post accordingly. I acquired this stamp as part of the firstfrog2013 TSF Donation Auction Lot, better known as "the gift that keeps on giving". I continue to marvel at all of the terrific material I received in that lot, and I am sincerely thankful to Frog for what has easily been the best and most memorable philatelic acquisition I have ever made. Here's to you, Frog! Great to have you back on TSF, and thanks again for your generosity!

It it could be what is now known as Rouyn-Norand in the province of Quebec. Before amalgamation, it would have been known simply as Noranda. Not sure if the abbreviation for the province would be at that time. Could be QC, QUE, or even PQ. Rouyn-Noranda is a city on Osisko Lake in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Canada. The city of Rouyn-Noranda is a coextensive with a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality and census division of Quebec of the same name. this is only a guess. We are a big country so there could be many other options out there. David

Notification of receipt postcard (with “blank Kharkovskaya PTO okrug” handstamp) from Kharkov to Bershad, Podolia (13/12). Returned registered from there (14/12/1923) to Kharkov (21/12/1923). Rectangular “registration” handstamp with city–region name and number, but no “З” (=R). Franked at 12k with definitives (i.e at the appropriate NOR rate: the registered letter rate of the period).

3rd December (1940) Canada, Scott #241, 10-cent dark carmine, issued in 1938, depicting the Canadian Parliament Building's Memorial Chamber in Ottawa, postmarked on this date in 1940 in Carievale, Saskatchewan. Carievale is apparently a relatively small town, and it happens to be located about 300km away from Regina, home to TSF member madbaker. This is yet another stamp which I acquired from firstfrog2013 in the TSF Donation Auction lot earlier this year. Thanks again, Frog!

Carievale is tiny and literally in the middle of nowhere. It's riiiight down in the corner of the province. You could walk to the USA (less than 15 miles) and to Manitoba (about the same) from downtown Carievale. You know, if you had nothing to do. Which you will, because there's not much out there! I've never been there. The closest I've been is Portal, the border crossing when one drives to North Dakota. Not much there either, except for an awesome stone mill where I used to buy my grains and seeds (Daybreak Mill)

8th December (1939) Gold Coast, Scott #116, 1-penny red brown, depicting King George VI and Christiansborg Castle in Accra, postmarked on this date in 1939 in Cape Coast (present day Ghana). From Wikipedia: "Cape Coast, or Cabo Corso, is a city and fishing port, and the capital of Cape Coast Metropolitan District and Central Region of south Ghana. Cape Coast is situated on its south to the Gulf of Guinea. Cape Coast had a settlement population of 169,894 people (2010 census). From the 16th century until Ghanaian independence, the city and fishing port changed hands between the British, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, and Dutch."

After receiving a nice group of Belgium stamps from Londonbus some years ago, I followed up by beefing up the collection with railroad stamps. Now I have a 'go to' group any time I need a postmark calendar stamp! This Q23 cancelled Alost-nord was possibly? from the main railway station of Aalst(the Flemish name). Alost is the French name. EDIT: I suspect a small station once existed near the recently opened Aalst-Kerrebroek station. The main station, as shown by Wikipedia, was built in 1852.
