April 3, 1907 Mexico to Germany Letter uses a 2 centavo postal stationary envelope with an additional 8 centavos in stamps to make up the international rate. Although the return address shown on the back is Mexico City, this letter entered the postal system in Durango (DGO). It crossed into the USA at Eagle Pass, Texas (adjacent to Piedras Blancas, Coahuila) on April 6, presumably passed through New York City, and reached Alt Rahlstedt, Germany (near Hamburg) on April 20, 1907.

Picture postcard (view from the Urals) from Perm railway station (oval cds) to Helsinki (trilingual machine cancellation of April 19th). Traveled by the Helsingfors - Petrograd/ P.Vagon No2 (circular cds of 9/4/1918). Franked correctly at 20k with 20k/14k Arms. Since the end of January, Helsinki was controlled by the Red Guards. Sometime around mid-April the city was captured by the Germans. The card reflects this interesting period.

Just found this one a day late, but really wanted to show it because of the nice cancel. The big TARDE could mean either afternoon or late. I'm guessing it means afternoon, so they would have to change the wording every 6 hours. EDIT: OK, more likely 12 hours, since the cancel already says 7. Funny how these observations sometimes don't register until after a few hours have elapsed. March April 3, 1939 from São Paulo, Brazil

Adversity cover from Blyznetsi to Dnipropetrovsk, 7/4/1931. Express sending franked correctly at 70k with definitives. The pink “B” label with black inscription was used on express sendings. The non-standard registration label is perfed on 3 sides, with pre-printed city name and registration number. Blyznetsi was a post station in eastern Ukraine, then in Ekaterinoslav administrative division, today in Kharkov oblast at the border with Donetsk oblast.

I almost forgot about this one: a postmark celebrating the 1978 Jewellery and Arts & Crafts Fair.
I got lucky with a simple Google search and found a description of this very event in a 1978 newspaper: the Jewish Post of Indianapolis, available here. It's actually a pretty interesting read, beginning "Conjure up a vision of an exotic ten course Moroccan style dinner, served by Bedouins in a tentlike atmosphere..." Sounds most excellent.
