Estonia,26 January 1995 Cover from Särevere to Paide Stamp : "International year of the Family" (Michel # 239) What beautiful cursive handscript on that cover ! How I envy that. Some humans have the knack to produce such examples, they probably are not even aware they do. Mine always looks like a dog's breakfast. My son was educated early, in Thailand, when he finished his primary education in Australia, he developed a wonderful cursive, sheesh. John Lennon's cursive / script on his lyrics sheets, always had me envious. |

151 years ago today. Lettre express = direct delivery, I think. It didn't go very far, just two hours Geneva to Lyon. But it traveled looking pretty perfect. All that stuff and nonsense about postal efficiency. This is the reason for stamps.

January 31 US Scotts 1825 (15c Veterans Administration) and 2042 (20c Tennessee Valley Authority) postmarked January 31, 2001 in New Orleans, LA.  A metered dated January 30, 1986 cancelled on January 31, 1986 in Hicksville, NY. No stamp but I found the combination meter and cancel interesting.  |
