You couldn't scan a couple of them and post them for a closer look?

Nice selection :-)
According to Gratton/AIEP, these were made by Hirschburger. Many wrongly accredit them to Fournier.

In my limited experience, and looking at Scott mainly, forgeries of these types are easy to recognize because the perfs are wrong and the lines in the faces of the figures, especially the female figure to the right, look clearly different. So here is my question for those who know more than I do: Are there forgeries that don't have the wrong perfs? That would be a bummer, since I'd have to have some new way of distinguishing and go back to check hundreds of examples in my albums.

Hello, sorry but i think at least your 40c is wrong. A larger picture of each would allow me to educate you.

racatrien a discussion would be most interesting, but I think you may have to post your own images as jl is no longer active on the forum.

Here's a Group Type / Navigation & Commerce 40c for Gabon for reference: If I remember correctly -- one of the differences is the fine dots in the background that the forgery can't reproduce?

This is all very helpful, thanks. Yet my basic question--are there fakes with the correct perforations?--remains unanswered explicitly. But I am assuming from the foregoing that the answer is "yes."

In my opinion no obvious differences concerning the perforations (14) but very often the combs having been put more randomly we observe odd teeth often in the angles.
