Venezuela - over 100 forgeries 1859-1874 including Barquitos, Carupano, Escudo, extensive 1880 Bolivar Not to mention at least 100 diagrams on forgery specs One of my most complete & probably a 50+ page article if & when I find time to put it all together If you have a specific request - send by email a really good scan - pls don't post it A project like this one would take me a few weeks to do.

Thank you. Yes, I appreciate the enormity of the task. If possible, I would like to begin with just the 1880 Simon Bolivar (Both issues) but mainly with Mr. Bolivar facing left. I mainly isolate using the receding hairline, dent in the forehead and blob in the ear. I would be fascinated if a deeper study on this issue was available. Also, if there is policy to isolate issues of this ilk cancelled fiscally, and if so how to identify? I'll send some detailed scans of the issue in question. Meanwhile I'll post an image of a page that is pretty scrappy, and not intended for your use. I expect Jerry to upbraid me esp with the 50c browns which, no doubt are forgeries.

rod222You can find a lot of information to start with here: stampforgeries.com/forged-stamps-of-venezuela/Included are some translated content from ASOFILCA (which I highly recommend). There are more articles on their site (in Spanish). Besides the obvious forgeries, it require substantial knowledge to navigate through the forgeries of Venezuela.

I have a decent smattering of early Venezuela, but I am sure that several are forgeries. I’ll post pics of what I find here. I’ll also compile the above info plus whatever I find on Venezuelan forgeries and reprints and post that here, too. The Postage Stamps of Venezuela" Hall & Fulcher 170 pages 192 Links to sites with more info: stampforgeries.com/forged-stamps-of-venezuela/To start, here is a pic of eleven different Fournier forgeries. Note that any Venezuela with cancels that are dots are forgeries.

Hi For Venezuela forgeries send a PM to Will Castillo. He also has/had a web page, of which I have a copy on Box, which can be downloaded: Venezuela Forgeries The documents are in Spanish but Google Translate does a decent job. For ALL my Venezuela tables and documents download: Venezuela
Note: Any of my documents and/or tables that are downloaded may not be published as they have no permissions and are for personal use only. Jerry B

Many thanks for resurrecting this long-dormant thread, Terri ( philatelia). I really enjoy learning how to identify the classic forgeries. And many thanks to Jerry B for the kind offer. I have already downloaded the lot, and will peruse at my leisure. I noticed that rod222 originally stated that he downloaded a free copy of the 1924 reference book, but I could not find any such source online now. If anyone else has a clue about that, I would be glad to hear it.

Many thanks, Steve ( tomiseksj), I have downloaded them all. I appreciate your efforts on this. My searching did not turn this up, but perhaps I gave up too quickly. Also thanks to Jerry B! If you do hear from Rod, I will be glad to learn if you find anything. Thanks to you both!

This is a fascinating area, the Hall & Fulcher study is a great book but is already outdate in some areas (I have the Hall & Fulcher articles combined in one pdf file). A excellent source is the web site for ASOFILCA (se following link), but all is in spanish. Venezuelan forgeriesIf somebody have any question, please post a picture over here and sure me or Will will be happy to investigate and help.
