I like to take a moment and thank all the members for all the contributions and the hard work everyone has put into the form over the last year . I have been absent from the form for the last little while due to family issues.
My wife has not been doing very well, she works in mental health and has dealt with the number of cases and due to the results of them she has been diagnosed with PTSD, and to make matters a little worse she has also been diagnosed with a tumor in her brain, we are still waiting for results to see you exactly what type of tumor it is. So please excuse me if I have them being on the form and being as active as I normally am I'm a little preoccupied at the moment and find it difficult to do when Eastampton or anything related with the form.
I like to also thank Steve can you spin at work course keep on the form going and all the other members of been very active fit including the great work that Nelson has gone on the newsletter it's probably one of the most professional looking newsletters that's out there from any club.
I do stop into the form 34 times a day and have a read of all the posts in a very aware of all the stuff that's going on so if anybody wants to message me or PM me I am always available it's just that I haven't taken out any Of my albums for the last little while. London boss first frog I do have your items to mail to you I came across some the other day while I was going through a drawer There were even addressed and ready with postage
So wherever in the world you are or whatever religious beliefs or social beliefs you have I do wish everybody a very merry Christmas happy holidays or any other ones that I happen to forget
May you all have a great 2017 and I hope you managed to fill in all the spaces that you have in your albums and continue with participation in the form and enjoy your stay while you're here and if you happen to have a little extra right in time Nelson and Steve would be more than happy to submit your article in the next newsletter,

Jack- Wishing your wife well, and hope the tumor, while worrisome, is no/slow growing, or can be treated. Take care of her, and we will help take care of the forum.

Mom sends her prayers your way.We are still working on getting her to move here.I even offered to set up her own stamp den,we'll see what she decides. If I can be of any help PM me.Winter is a bit slow since we lost the snow removal contract after shopping mall was sold.I'm a great cat/dog sitter.

Just a update. Still on the mystery bus with the wife seems the doctors can't make up there minds, she still has more tests to do.
Kirby not doing good his hips are bothering him really bad. I have talked to the vet and we are going to try some mess and water treatment.
We have insurance for Sara's medical costs but none for Kirby. I don't like to ask for help but will be setting up a go find me for Kirby to cover vet and treatment costs, it would devastate Sara if we had to put him to sleep. He still has a few years left of quality life with the right treatment and meds.
Today he made it up the stairs ( he tore down the baby gate ) and slept in my bed, I took him down for a walk and his hind legs went under him he fell down and slid with me holding his head. He had a teraable time walking sat on the drive way for a hour and wouldn't move.
He won't do his business on his property and struggled across the road. I had to carry him back all 140 pounds.

Toward the end of our last dog's life she was continually splaying her hind legs and had difficulty going from a laying or sitting to standing position. I purchase a rear-only lifting product made by Solvit called CareLift which allowed me to help lift her rear end and support it as she walked. You can also fashion a DIY mobility aid from a bath towel or, if your vet performs surgery, perhaps they have some prefabricated ones. I still have the harness and can send it to you if you think it will fit Kirby. It is a size large that fits pets 70-130 pounds (32-59 kg) or with a waist dimension of 27-37 inches (68-94 cm).

Thank guys
He has spent the last two days in the cellar, we have a older house and the basement is unfinished but it's got a concrete floor, in the hot weather he lies down there.
I don't mind if he does his business there. He has been caught over the drain and very proud of his aim.
Steve I have a fall protection harness that will fit him I will use that it got 6 points of contact and plent of webbing to use as a hand grip.
Yesterday I had the carpenter make a ramp with thread so I will. E trying it out later.
Frog you're right about moving dogs they are a dead weight , I do technically rescue for work if he won't cooperate going up the stairs I will break out the rescue equipment, set up the tripod and the 4to 1 strap him in a stretcher and hoist him up

I'd recommend against letting him use the stairs -- too much potential for further aggravating injury.

Yes we are going to block off the basement
But I got to get him up first.
The ramp is for the front door, we have 3 steps same with the back door. The ramp is just for him to go in and out.

Jack, As a senior citizen, I've been told several times that I need a pet for companionship. To them I could only say, 'Thanks, but no thanks'. I've experienced that gut-wrenching, ache in the throat feeling too many times when losing a friend... I don't need to go there again.
As a new member of the Forum, I haven't yet formed the bonds that are apparent in so many posts. People whom you've known for years are perhaps hesitant to say what needs to be said.
Does Kirby experience any quality of life during his day and night? If you can say yes, then I commend your heroic efforts on Kirby's part. If not, you have a heart-felt, compassionate decision to make.

He has a pretty lazy life, likes 2 walks a day and sleeps most of the time. I went and got some meds for him today and had a long chat with the vet (who is a good friend of mine)he has seen many big old guys jump out of it after a day or two on the meds. However he is probably 11 or 12 years old and near the end of the life span, he knows Kirby very well and has looked after him when we go away.
We are going to try and see if he improves over the next few days, We have talked and know what we must do, but we are going to give one last roll of the dice.
Last summer he jumped out the second floor window and did a face plant, we walked away fine.
He had a bad life, he was rescued from a owner that had him chained, his teeth are worn from chewing the steel chain, god knows what physical abuse he got, the owner went to jail.

Jack, I am so sorry for your loss. My wife and I lost our cat of 19 years just a couple of months ago, and we still think of her and miss her every day. We have been married 23 years, so that cat has been a part of our life together for almost the whole time.
Anyway, I am sending you and your family my best wishes and thoughts at this sad time. I agree with Frog, you did all that you could for Kirby, and you know that you gave him some good years by rescuing him from his terrible situation.

Jack, I so admire you for listening to Kirby's request for peace. It is so difficult for us to acknowledge that a loved one has ceased to have the quality of life they deserve and need to be released from their pain and suffering. I am proud that you put Kirby's needs above those of yours and your family's, despite the emotional turmoil and distress it is obviously putting you through. Blessings on you and yours!

Jack, it takes me several times to get through this poem, but it is so true. I'm so sorry for your loss. Kirby we love you and know you are playing with everybody now.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thanks guys, yes he is in doggy heaven and not with any more suffering.
He will always be in my heart.
Yesterday the rescue called us asking how we are doing, the lady that runs the rescue had Kirby for almost a year before he found his forever home with us, she was with us in Kirby's last moments.
She knows us well and that we know Kirby would want a good old soul to take over his job of protecting his family.
We went and visit a young pyr pup that she knew would be a perfect fit, well TSF and my family have a new addition Her name is. Charlee and is a 9 month pup, her owner surrendered her because she was to big and also she was going to Mexico and didn't have a sitter.
We did not replace Kirby, he found a new girl to look over us.
