Chasepot (Paris Issue) 1920 Forgeries The stamps were designed by Arshag Fetvadjian and printed by the Chassepot Printing Works in Paris. The printing was stopped due to the Red Army entering Armenia. The printing company destroyed the remainders because Fetvadjian was unable to pay. Fetvadjian probably kept a large stock of stamps, proofs and specimens which he may have sold to Paris dealers in 1924. The forgers are apparently unknown but they were probably responding to the demand between 1924 and 1930.

1921- Yessayan Series Forgeries The first illustrated stamps of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR) were printed in the Constantinople printing press owned by a Mr. Yessayan. The artist Sarkis Khatchaturian was commissioned to design the stamps. Yessayan's printing house in Constantinople was commissioned for the printing of the stamps. The first stamps reached Yerevan in the end of 1921. To cover the cost of the printing, Yessayan kept 40% of the stamps and with the right to sell them. The stamps all have so-called "secret markings", but it is doubtful these were anti-forgery marks but rather they were probably guide marks or errors that were not removed. There are at least 3 "family" groups of forged stamps. Each one has particular characteristics.

3rd Definitive Forgeries In October 1922, the third issue was produced, the ASSR. The stamps were produced in the printing shop of the Gosnak Department of the People's Finance Commission in Yerevan. The issue consisted of 10 stamps with individual motifs on different papers. Since the manufacturing process for the issue was about one year, the issue became obsolete due to inflation.
