Any collectors who specialize in early Costa Rica? It would be great to connect.

Hi Jessica I specialize in Colombia and collect Ecuador and Venezuela. However, I am interested in all philatelic aspects of Latin America. I am sure that anything you post on the board will be interesting. Until my friend closed his stamp shop, I was breaking down collections for stock. He had other people for US, Europe etc., but, I did all the Latin America. For this process tables were created to aid in cataloging the stamps. I did create a table for Costa Rica which might be of interest. If interested, download the table from: Costa Rica Table . I have made the tables available to all who request any, or all, tables: app.box.com/s/7ydeclbexsaekclmrrhnThe only caveat is that they may not be published as there are no written permissions to use the catalog data. They are strictly for personal use. If you have anything that can be added, it would be appreciated by all who use these tables. Jerry B

Jerry,
Thanks for these tables! Are you trying to make a catalog? I can add some things to it.

Hi Jessica
We, my friend and I, were not trying to create a catalog. We just got tired of cataloging stamps and flipping catalog pages to find a stamp.
The first table was Mexico and since then the procedure for creating a table got to be very simplistic. A copy of a current appropriately formatted table is cleared and used as a template. There is a 'form' to record the Scott "See..."entries. From there the new table is filled in. The first took a couple of days but towards the end it only took a few hours to create a table. If you are referring to Costa Rica, email the information to me at "jerrybemail-stamps 'at' yahoo 'dot' com" or, if the info is large, I could create a BOX folder and you can put the info there. It would be great to be able to expand a country's table(s).
Creating a BOX account is free. One gets 10GB of storage with a max of 250MB per file. It is a great way to share files. So you can create an account and put the reference information there. Then you can share it as you choose.
Note: So we don't add to the forum, you can e-mail me through TSF or the email address above.
Interesting spelling of your last name. I would have expected a "z" at the end not an "x".

Take a look at www.socorico.orgThe publish a very nice journal - The Oxcart. You can buy them cheaply as PDF's. Forgery wise, overprinted classic Costa Rica is a minefield. Without specialist literature I would actually recommend staying away from them.

And yes once I started working on my exhibit I learned about the forgeries. Frustrating, but interesting!
