Type F Meter It does not seem to exactly match any of the type F meters listed in the International Postage Meter Stamp Catalog. Does anyone know what denomination the postage due marking is in? Or what it means? No postage due was charged in the US (which makes me thing the postage due amount was less than one cent if that is possible). You know how I like auxiliary markings.

Smauggie This I think is an example of a tax fraction charge, which superceded the UPU postage due system in 1966. That system was based on the centime (part of a French Franc). I don't have time to find a more appropriate reference for you, but this may give you the gist of the basic concept: Canadian Tax Fraction chargesJust added this, which gives a very short explanation of the pre 1966 system: Canadian Centime postage due

I am not sure what the overseas rate was in 1981, but it sure wasn't 55 cents, which was the reduced meter rate for a letter staying in the Netherlands.

Ornisa - Tilburg, Netherlands February 2, 1954 This is probably one of very few meter slogans with a jaguar. That's what caught my eye. The company Ornisa was involved in the bird and animal trade founded in 1924. It would appear the company is no longer in business. I did find a website linked below which had some basic information.
