Here's a recent acquisition, I think rather nice. An advertising/ accounts card from the Welland Vale Manufacturing Co. of St. Catharines Ont. (yes...my hometown, I know, right?) postmarked November 1 1898.
The card was sent to a gentleman in Douglas Ont. and bears a faint Douglas receiver cancel dated November 2.
The company was a big manufacturer of tools, operating from 1869 to 1965.

And as an aside, I have one of their shovels, a spade I inherited from my dear ol' Mom. Still still digs a pretty decent hole!
