I know you know I'm doing the cancer ride in June (Thank you Everyone!). This isn't more pleading. It has occurred to me how wonderful slogan cancels were for raising awareness on issues and events. And diseases! Cancer, tuberculosis, other handicaps blah blah blah. So with very little digging online I was able to uncover several examples of slogan cancels used to help fight cancer. This one is from Postal History Corner - postalhistorycorner.blogspot.ca/2013/02/welland-ontario.html Ironically, looking through my own postal history collection I couldn't find a single one! But I know they're out there. So I thought you could show me yours. Canadian, American, any country. Let's see how the postal system helped in the fight! thanks James www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR/Ride/Toronto2018?px=4295754&pg=personal&fr_id=1641

Hi Judith Thanks for the addition to the thread. That's a great dinosaur. Though the purpose of the thread was to show slogan cancels which urge the fight to conquer cancer. You see, I'm participating in a charity bike ride this June to raise money for the Princess Margaret Cancer Research Centre in Toronto, and I thought the thread would be a good way to keep awareness out there, without beating folks over the head with it (don't tell them I said that, but do you think it's working?).
...on the other hand, now I think of it, this whole cancer thing can get pretty heavy. So your dino is VERY welcome. I think everybody likes dinosaurs.

Ok, looked through my collection again and did find these. US non-profit postage paid corners from St Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Walker Cancer Research Centre. St. Jude's, of course, deals with all sorts of catastrophic childhood diseases, including cancer, and Walker's is spearheading new and innovative approaches to cancer research. Not slogan cancels, true. But close enough, I'd say. www.walkercri.org/index.htmlwww.stjude.org

I picked up a surprisingly early slogan cancel related to cancer not long ago. In the 1920s this would have been a fairly unusual event, not like the regular cancer awareness events seen today.
