Before you register to join the forum it is important that you understand what you are signing up for; specifically, you are expressing an interest in becoming an active member of The Stamp Forum.
We expect that all individuals who are accepted for membership will create a thread introducing themselves to the membership so that we can learn what your collecting interests are and any other information that you choose to share(e.g., how long you've been collecting, where you're from, etc.).
This introductory thread must be made within 15 days of being accepted for membership or the account will be deleted.
We also expect that those who join us are interested in participating in the ongoing discussions or in starting some of their own if a search reveals that the subject matter isn't already covered in other forum threads. If it has been addressed elsewhere, we recommend that you add your post(s) there rather than starting another thread.
There is no required number of posts per unit of time that must be made, but to achieve full membership status and have access to all areas of the forum, you must have been a member for at least 14 days and have made a minimum of 50 quality posts (e.g., posts that convey relevant information, ask questions, etc.).
If you aren't willing to introduce yourself and subsequently participate to some degree then there is no need to register for membership as the vast majority of the information on the forum is accessible by members and non-members alike, without having to sign in to an account.
Please be patient after making a request for membership. We try to make decisions on membership requests within 24 to 48 hours but sometimes it may take awhile longer. Upon receiving a request, we rely on a number of sources to vet prospective members to ensure they aren't spammers but rather have a legitimate interest in joining us. Multiple requests for membership will only slow the process and irritate the Forum's volunteer staff.
Part of the vetting process includes validation of your email address and ensuring that you understand the requirements for an introduction, as well as those for making sales, purchases or trades. This is achieved by sending you an email that requires you to reply. Once done, the request will be processed and a Welcome email sent. At that point, you will be able to sign in to your account and create your introduction.
