I bought this used #114 online a while back, have been unable to find any similar cancels in any references. A stamp dealer with much experience in fancy cancels in US was not familiar with it, nor had seen anything similar. He did feel, however that the cancel was genuine period cancel. Any ideas? thanks

A scan instead or higher resolution photo would be preferable.
You will probably find it HERE

What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many, many catalogues ....

You will probably find it HERE If you click on "View By Subject" and choose "Arrow", you can decide for yourself whether it perhaps matches the AR-2 cancel from Fredericksburg, VA. It comes closer to that one than any of the other arrow cancels. Ryan

This does look quite similar. If that is correct, it would mean that it was used 4 years after issue. Not impossible, but I don't believe common at the time.
I will have to do some checking into that.
Thank you.
