I am giving another try at my "poor" scan results, per nll947 recent suggestions. This page represents the N.B. stamps "cent issue", minus the Charles Connell non issued stamp, from my N.B. collection. All numbers are from Scott/Unitrade and colors from Unitrade Canada Specialized 2018. I enjoy them very much ! René I think I need a better scanner.....scanning at 300 dpi full page presently...!

Some N.B. proofs with Unitrade Canada cat numbers. In this page you will not see a "Charles Connell" proof as his face/stamp was never issued in New Brunswick.Scan done at 400 dpi and no cropping of page. René

I think I need a better scanner.....scanning at 300 dpi full page presently...! That is the issue, to get good results on full pages you need min 600DPI and preferably 1200DPI is the key. If you have an All-in-One printer/scanner 300/400 is generally the limit. My dedicated CCD scanner goes to 9600DPI (useful for doing old negatives - if people remember what those are) For single stamps 300DPI is fine unless you want minute details.
PM me, I may have a solution for you.

Great stuff Rene! Congratulations on obtaining both NB #1 and #2 !! Being a general WW collector, I will probably never get to enjoy these scarce stamps in my own album - so I enjoy yours instead! I love how you include information about the Numeral Postmark on your pages - keep it up! Will we see #3 as well ($$$$)

Rene ,
great to see these NB stamps. A great collection. I have all that I can afford in my NS collection, so I have moved to acquiring NB and PEI.
i do have a couple from both colonies. Can you recommend any books, site etc that can provide info on the colonial stamps?
happy collecting.

Can you recommend any books, site etc that can provide info on the colonial stamps? David My 1st reference is "The Postal History of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick 1754-1867", by Jephcott-V. G. Greene-Young, published in 1964. The book was bought by my late father from BNA handbooks in 1991, through Charles G. Firby.....quite expensive at the time (US$315.65)......393 pages of extraordinary info. Also I have "The Postage Stamps of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, by Nicholas Argenti, 1976 copyright - no idea how much dad paid or where he bought it. Both references are great.....everything in black and white Cheers, René

Most of you have seen my New Brunswick Cent collection, without the unissued "Postmaster General" Charles Connell Portrait stamp. Some rare copies are circulating for the "historians" and very wealthy. This is out of Eastern Auctions Ltd., Bathurst, New Brunswick, in the upcoming Novemberf 8, 2018, Auction "The Highlands Collection of BNA Part One".......nice price !!

I didn't realize just how expensive he is! It is amazing how an unliked face on a stamp can draw so much money !!! He lost his Postmaster job in N.B. at the time of his "choice", was not spoken well but he managed to keep his face circulating and for big bucks

René, many thanks for your posts in this thread. You have a beautiful New Brunswick collection! I only have a few stamps, I think similar to what Xavier ( hrdoktorx) has shown. But I do really like the Canadian Province issues very much, and so will show the two from my collection which I ran across while back in California the last few days. These are NB, Scott #7-8, but I have not attempted to classify them by color variety as you have done. I am pretty sure that I have a couple more different stamps from NB in my collection, and I am planning to have a look for them when I am back in California for Christmas.

Beryllium GuyChris, nice N.B. stamps. The 2c looks like a 7b (Unitrade Canada) - deep orange - while 5c ,# 8 looks like a yellow green, not a blue green or olive green (Unitrade Canada), but scans are scans !! René

A page comeback........and not a "meager" collection, FrogSorry renden thought I had scanned this page before. My meager collection at this time. OK Frog, firstfrog2013 - I brought this page of N.B. stamps/proofs because I just took the time (after all these months) to look at it and have some comments - maybe you can help. 1) very nice group of N.B. "stuff" !!! 2) The Connell brrown is a 5P or a variety....so many ? (Unitrade Canada)...therefore a "proof"....nice 3) The 10P is also a proof...nice 4) The 7 Pi is another proof but cancelled ? why would someone cancel a "proof"....good question for the audience 5) The # 7 Queen Victoria on the far right is of a colour that I cannot distinguish, using Unitrade....it seems brownish ?? interesting again !! 6) The forgery of #8 is of interest also....the face of Q Victoria does not match the other #8s. So, Frog, just comments of this interesting page of New Brunswick stuff and questions I had in my mind. Thanks for sharing with us !! René and I wanted to add a close-up of my 8i which represents the "elongated earring" variety....while I am here.....no relevance to my comments, Frog
