Thanks for the update.
I just checked Canada Post website, entered "Superman" into search and came up with whooping 62 results to shop. So there's the coil stamp, the booklets stamps (5 different covers), m/s, press sheet,...
Talk about milking the collectors. Where in the world is Superman when we need him, LOL.

Yea typical of Canada Post to make a multitude of pieces out of a popular issue. I'll stop my collection at a single of the stamps and the souvenir sheet, maybe the FDC. Sometimes it pays/saves to limit yourself to what fits in your collection best.

I really lost alot of interest after the centential issue but at this point just try to keep it up to date.I certainly don't buy all those booklets unless I see something like the ring me write me I keep it simple.I still try to double up on anything over $1 face in the hopes one day someone could sell off extras and get back to date.

I saw these stamps in person at the Toronto Fan Expo today. If you show up with a Superman t-shirt you'll get a free postcard =) Only one more day for Fan Expo

Something of interest that I just discovered...the Superman stamps are only avaiable for purchase within Canada. Anyone know why?

Noticed that one too. Just a gut feeling that it might be related to agreement that Canada Post has signed with DC Comics.

Perhaps a third party will be granted rest-of-world rights for selling the Canadian Superman stamps, maybe even at inflated prices. If that is the case, I am sure there will be many TSF Canadians willing to get them for TSF members for face plus postage, including myself.

Canada Post's Facebook message says there's a hidden message in the coil stamps. I haven't received my stamps as yet so I was wondering if anyone has found the hidden message?

I went to both the Main post office and the local sub office ( shoppers ) The main office I walked in and they had none a chap walked in and bought them all every thing they had except the coils So off to the shoppers mail counter and they did not get any in yet. I made another trip today to see if they had them in and No was the answer . I have a feeling the same guy who cleaned out the main office went there as well. So back to the main office and asked if they getting anymore in. I had a chat with the manager a really nice guy, he is known to look over for errors for collectors . After a chat I put in my order so I will have them on Wednesday, he also asked if I would like a poster as well the one on the wall was spoken for but he will get me a couple. Seems these are like hot cakes, I had a look at eBay and plenty on sale.

The coil stamps came in rolls of 75 with inscriptions on the back in "Kryptonian" which translates in English and French; “The S sheild is more than Supermans family crest its Kryptonian symbol that means hope”
In between English and French is a blank backed stamp. Starter pair

I was fortunate to win this souvenir sheet, courtesy of canadianphilatelist -- thank you Anthony! ] As an added bonus, the cover used to convey the sheet was adorned with two stamps from the Superman roll.

Yea looks like the cancelled the cover, but they may have missed the bottom stamp. I am amazed at how many stamps I receive uncancelled in my mail box.

Major varieties:
The Superman coil singles included in the 2013/03 Quarterly Pack have different backing than the actual rolls of fifty stamps. The are rouletted all 4 sides instead of imperforate, and have no text on the back.
The strip from the booklet is die cut through the gutter margin in the quarterly pack, while imperforate in the actual booklet. It is also unfolded and die cut through on four sides of the strip.
I will post images later, unless someone beats me to it.

BC, I had never taken not of the missing printing of the coil single from the quarterly pack. Thanks for the tip! I will have to cut a single off my roll for my collection to show the variety.
The strip of booklet stamps is a nice piece to have, but it doesn't fit into the rows of my vario pages (horizontally). I am not going to break it apart, so now I am on the look out for some decent used copies of the booklet stamps to fill the spaces in my singles book.

I received a lovely package in the mail today with the Superman sheet as postage. They came from a secret location in Ontario, inhabited by a mild mannered philatelist, who in real life is --- ah but you know who you are. Thanks! Do Canadian self-adhesive issues soak off paper at all? Or are they like US self-adhesives resulting in frustration and bad language?
Theron.

The SS with the five different stamps are water base gum the old fashion lick em and stick them Theron the Canada self adhesive have two layers of gum one that's closes to the paper of the stamp seems to be water base and will release in a bath of water. I do it all the time with no problems.
