I use Vario stock pages to store parts of my collection and I like the idea of using Stamp ID tags, small pieces of paper on which are printed relevant details of the stamp(s) and then inserted into the stock page sleeve. I am familiar with Microsoft Excel but no where near being an expert and so my dilemma is how to go about creating these "tags" to include some basic information such as Issue, Catalog No., Alternate Catalog No., and Catalog Value for example. Some helpful instruction and useful tips to do this with Excel to get me started would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, erthur

That may be easier using a graphics program or Word. Write up how you want it to be, print & cut.
I try to keep things simple, but in the long run, nothing is as easy as you want it to be!

Most any graphics program can open pdf's. I'm on a Mac & have a number of apps that can do this.
Wouldn’t it be just as easy to do this in a text editor? Keep it simple, not to mention cheap!

omg, I am so happy I joined this forum. I have had the exact same question about stamp tags and was always jealous when I saw those nice and neat album pages of others next to my sloppy self-cut hand labels and handmade tags.
Thank you for asking and answering

Some helpful instruction and useful tips to do this with Excel to get me started would be greatly appreciated. If you have access to Excel, you probably also have access to Word. If that's so, Avery makes templates for a number of their label products, freely available as Word .DOC files. Here are a couple of links to templates for sheets of relatively small labels, which may be useful to somebody among our membership here even if they aren't exactly what you need for your own project. When printing these, the outlines for each label are not printed (as I recall - I used to use an Avery template for shipping labels some years ago), so if you want outlines to help you cut them out of the piece of paper, you would need to add borders to each of the cells. Do that on one sheet and once you get something you like the looks of, you can save that as a new template so that it's your starting point for each sheet of ID tags you write up. 80 labels per page60 labels per pageRyan
