for whatever reason I cannot access stampsx.com - comes back as FORBIDDEN 403 (this has happened before) I had this happen when I lived in Japan. I could access it from my home Internet, but if I tried over cellular I got a 403. I think they’ve blocked certain IP address ranges. If you want to, I can post a support question there, but I’d need to know your IP address.

A nice arrival today, Bavarian stamps MiNr. 32a, 33 (top row), 34, & 36. These are all from the 1875 issue with horizontal long wavy lines watermarks (clearly visible on the selvedge).

A page I did this morning after receiving my auction winnings Title should read (will be corrected): Stamps and Type of 1914-20, Overprinted + ImperfNot many missing Scott 1919, overprint "a" imperf and 1 overprint "b" 10M btw: very simple page.....as are all Steiner pages ..but for me what counts is the "inventory" - I know where each stamp is

What I collect: Germany in all its facets since 1871 (especially German Reich used including postal statinoneries, used), USSR, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Denmark, France. I design all album pages for my collection myself and partly make them available to the general public for use.

I am aware that these official stamps are listed under Bavaria in the Scott system - and are therefore also placed accordingly on the Steiner album pages. Nevertheless, they are not Bavarian official stamps in the legal sense. The same applies to the last Bavarian definitive stamps from the beginning of 1920 with the same "Deutsches Reich" overprint. After the foundation of the German Empire in 1871 and the introduction of stamps of the German Empire, Bavaria continued to have the right to issue its own stamps until 1920 (this also applied to Württemberg, but otherwise to no other member state of the German Empire or now the Weimar Republic). On April 1, 1920, Bavaria (like Württemberg) was incorporated into the Reich postal territory. The stamps of Bavarian origin with the overprint "Deutsches Reich", which were issued from April 1, 1920, are issues of the German Reich. Although they were primarily used in Bavaria, they could be used throughout the entire Reich territory - as the Scott catalog points out in each case.
This is not intended to be a "know-it-all" statement, but merely to ensure accuracy.

The term "farewell issue" refers to the stamps that were in fact Bavarian, i.e. those without overprint...
