The Somali Coast applied a "France Libre" overprint on stamp stocks from their definitive series of 1921-25 (for which I unfortunately do not have any examples to show) and for the 1938-39 series, pictured below (YT #204-232, missing only the 4c and 10Fr issues) and the value overprint (50c/65c, YT#233). Unusual for this series compared to the other French colonies is the use of two different lettering fonts for the "France Libre" inscription and the use of red ink.

Then there also were two sets of revenue stamps overprinted with "France Libre". I can show 5 copies from the first set (YT #T21,22,24,25,27), corresponding to the 1915 revenues with no engraver name in the bottom cartouche. These use the squarish font for the overprint, while the second set uses the 1938 revenues with the rounder overprint font and shows the engraver's signature.

The "London series" regular issues for the Somali Coast (YT #234-247). Interestingly, the stamps are labelled "Djibouti" in large characters while the "Cote Française des Somalis" is only in small font in the circular arc in the bottom left of the stamps. Naming the country "Djibouti" on stamps had not happened since 1902 and would not happen again until independence in 1977.

The "London series" airmail issues, which only mention "Djibouti" as the country's name (YT #PA1-7).

It's gotten a little cooler and I'm back in more of a stamping mood, so I'll resume my posts about Djibouti by going back to the Somali Coast days. To get things started, two triangular airmail issues from 1943 (YT #PA11-12). Issued by Vichy France (note the lack of an "RF" mention) and not actually postally used:

Series of definitives issued in 1938-40 (YT#148-166 and 178-187). I'm missing a 40c brown stamp with the mosque design to make this series complete: Vichy France also re-issued 3 of these stamps in 1944 (YT #248-250), which were not postally used. These are recognizable by the lack of an "RF" marking:

The mosque design from the 1938 definitive series was reused for the Pétain issues of 1941, with (YT# 251-52) and without (YT# 191-192) the "colonial works" surcharge overprint. Again, these Vichy France issues saw no postal usage in the colony itself.

I really should know this but were there any colonies in which the Petain and/or other Vichy issues actually saw postal use? I do not recall any in my Y&T catalogs which show used listings.

Yvert & Tellier quotes used Pétain issues from French Equatorial Africa, French Guinea, Mauritania, French Sudan, and Togo. There are other issues with Pétain's effigy from Algeria which saw postal usage.
From the "Protection of Indigenous Children" and Imperial Fortnight series issued in 1942, issues from the Ivory Coast, Somali Coast, French Guinea, French Indochina, Madagascar, Mauritania, Niger, Sénégal, French Sudan, and Togo are quoted with used values, and the higher-valued 50Fr airmail issue (featuring an aircraft at take-off) from the Ivory Coast, Dahomey, French Guinea, Mauritania, Sénégal (and a 100 Fr issue), French Sudan (and also the 50c issue), and Togo were also used.
There are also some used "Defence of the Empire" issues from French Guiana, French India, and Kouang-Tchéou.
Lastly, there are also many French Indochina "E.F" (Etat Français) issues, and some Tunisia issues where the "RF" mention is missing or replaced by the Tunisian moon crescent and star in a circle symbol, which can be found used.

hrdoktorx- thanks for the input Parts of the French Foreign Legion stayed 'loyal' to Petain state late in war, especially in Indochina, but they were too distant to get any printings from the motherland.

The second series of postage due stamps from the French Somali Coast was issued in 1938. Same design as the 1915 series but with a "INST DE GRAV" signature in the bottom cartouche.

The third series of postage due stamps for the French Somali Coast was issued by the Vichy government in 1944 and saw no postal use. One can recognize them by the missing RF letters in the top cartouche.
