In todays sorting chores I came across these (along with a few that are stuck together...a pity as some were mint unused ... Starts as 1951-75 beginning with Sc # 403 (which is one of the 'stuck" specimens I have) however- the 17-1/2 x 21 mm seems to be smaller that these stamps- they all seem to be the same size as Sc #421 of which I believe I have one 50c light blue, and another- same dimension but coloration is darker. There are also 2 30c with color variations but on Hip stamp there appears to be numerous color variations so perhaps this is just normal part of printing runs? and there are the stamps that appear to be pre-cancels, but not surcharges , which I'm not having much luck locating any more A108's that match in descriptionor appearance of Sc 360- 398 has a similar precancel, but it dates to 1949 I see numerous examples on E-Bay with little more description than Belgium pre-cancels. I also found reference to a Belgium Pre-Cancel catalogue- any idea if this can be found on-line as a reference? The prices on E-Bay makes me aware these are now high value stamps and part of me is questioning why I have spent the better part of an hour now trying to determine a catalogue # (but then again, that's why stamping is so captivating!)

darkormex Thanks! bookmarked and on my reading list- now to find a French to English translation site to bookmark!! Because this is a document, rather than a regular webpage, download the pdf to your computer, then go to: translate.google.com/and click on "Documents" (upper left, next to "Text") and then click on "Browse Your Computer". Navigate the upload window to the location of your downloaded document, click "Open", then, after it's uploaded, click on "Translate". Et voilà!

I don't think so, not with Google Translate.
Perhaps with another product? Perhaps someone else here can weigh in.

I have extracted as single pages... trying to gut and paste seems to send some of the pasted items to other text boxes on other pages. When I get it done I will let anyone interested know

question for those fluent in french
Is 1911 - Coat of Arms, bilingual overload a reasonable translation for 1911 - Armoiries, surcharge bilingue ?
or should I replace overload with surcharge???
and does anyone know what Houyoux refers to? there seems to be no translation

renden I went with Coat of Arms, Bilingual surcharge for Armoiries, surcharge bilingue
all wording inside the stamp boxes that do not have images of the stamps refers to the actual overprint (or so I believe)
i'm not sure if bilingual was required, but i left it
still no idea what Houyoux refers to- it seems it might be referring to a person....
and it's only 20 pages (last one is blank and i deleted the last very blank page
the original link I left as to give a nod to the source It looks to be useful, and from all the overprints that there seem to be for Belgium could be added to (I have a number that I cannot find reference to, and I decided to stop posting every single one here)
