What I collect: stamps, covers, postal cards from Canal Zone, early USA, Channel Islands

Besides Canal Zone stamps and postal cards, I have a ton of C.Z. photos, 8mm film (including a 1950's canal transit), and assorted ephemera. This image is a matchbox full of the locally famous Panama Canal Company matches. I don't know why they were famous, but I think it was because they performed well in the damp climate. Funny that what a big deal people made of matches.

You are not alone. This member became upset and began deleting images he had posted using his TSF Image Host account. His account has been disabled and I had been deleting posts like this whenever I came across them. I hadn't gotten to this thread so thanks for bringing it to my attention.
UPDATE: 188 posts in this thread alone were rendered meaningless by his immature act.

These Czechoslovakian match box labels are interesting. They were produced by 2 of the 3 match factories; Solo Lipnik and Solo Susice, the third being Smrecina B. They would readily fall into the category of Poster Stamps especially since they don't look like match box labels. More information can be found at Eye Magazine, Feature - Propaganda for the Pocket (I can't give the link since it is http only) Scan_20200709 (6) by Daniel, on Flickr

I don't see how this thread fits into TSF but here's some eye-candy.

I would imagine that some matchbox labels appear unwittingly in Cinderella collections as they appear to be Poster Stamps, as I say, especially the Czechoslovakian ones. Of which, here are some more: Scan_20200709 (7) by Daniel, on Flickr

What I collect: Primarily focused on Japan, but lots of other material catches my eye as well ...

At least some of the items portrayed in your "Chinese? match labels" image are in fact Japanese. Indeed, the majority of them may be Japanese, and perhaps all of them.
And if it's at all helpful to you, the image on the second row, second position from the left (with the plaid-looking background) is upside down.
But they're very interesting. My guess (based on nothing but the design styles) is that they are mostly from the 1960's (perhaps 1950's?), but I could be entirely wrong about that.

Thank you for the knowledge. Not my collecting interest but I picked up most of these in Cinderellas buys over the years.

Spar Matchbox cover from 1965. Friedrich Konig, along with Andreas Bauer, built a high speed printing press in the early 1800's which could print over 1000 sheets per hour.
