I did a search and could find no dedicated thread for free album pages on the internet so I thought I’d start one. Although I’ve recently developed an interest in Great Britain, I’m not a big fan of Machins. Even so, I have quite a few of them and need something to do with them. Adminware has Basic Machin pages for free as well as Novice, Intermediate, and Specialized pages for a fee. Basic Machin Pages
The Smithsonian National Postal Museum has free album pages for a stamp from every country. These pages contain spaces for stamps from around 785 stamp issuing entities throughout history. They inspired me to start a new collection. A Stamp From Every Country Album

Album Easy is a program to create pages and there are some posted by users of Album Easy. It has some pages for Great Britain including Machins. They include source files so you can alter them. www.thestampweb.com/

@mick
Thanks, hadn't come across this. US is a ways off (I'm presently stuck in early England), but looks like a good starting point for US when I get there!!! do you know if the squares are printed for pre-cut mounts?

I would like to point out, however, that the albums on the site have been created by a number of different people mostly for their own use, and as each person has a different idea of what they want their album to look like and what to include in the album, the quality and style of the individual albums may vary - from the very basic to the really excellent. So if one album does not appeal, that will not necessarily hold true for the next. What is consistent however is that each person has offered to share their work as a courtesy to others. Another thing worth considering, is that even though an album may not exactly meet one's needs, it may still be useful as the basis for a custom album, because in addition to being downloadable as a PDF file, the albums can also be downloaded as AlbumEasy files which may be easily modified by anyone willing to learn how to use the free AlbumEasy program. Stan - I think the Philosateleian pages are printed for pre-cut mounts, but I'm not 100% sure.

For Machin pages, gbstampsalbum sorts them chronologically.

Of all the Machin pages I've seen, these ones look to be about the best. Thanks for that link, daveg28 & angore for the tweak! Oh well, formatted for A4, and all I have is letter. I suppose I shall have to shop for some A4. It has to be available somewhere!

When I print them, I scale the pages to...if I remember correctly...97%. They fit on letter size well enough to suit me. And it doesn't shrink the boxes too much to be a problem.

I tried 97%, but the bottom border is missing. Too get it, I had to drop down to 90%, which made the boxes the same size as the stamp... too small if you ask me. I'll check in at the local office supplies store in town to see if they have A4 paper.

After checking on the web, I find it is impossible to get A4 in Canada. My only option, if I still want to print it at 100% is to buy "Legal" sized cardstock & cut it down to size. But at $1 per sheet, that is just too expensive, at least for me what with all the errors I produce.
Ah well... scaling it is! I fiddled around with it & 94% seems to be OK. But to make things difficult, I think I'll use these sheets as a guide & re-do the whole shebang on letter sized cardstock, widening the page & fitting more per page. This will be a bit of a project! But I do like the blue 3-lined border.

I'll admit...97% was a guess. It was a while ago when I last printed any of them. I think if you play with the scale, you'll be pleased. And yes, I like the blue borders as well. It's made a good looking album for me.

Thanks anyway, tomiseksj, but I'll pass. I like double-sided coloured cardstock instead. Besides, if I get A4 paper, then I need A4 binders - and they are 4 ringers! I'll just make up my own on Letter-sized cardstock. What else do I have to do? oh right... Germany, Luxembourg, the USA now & the MACHIN's. The list never ends. So much for fun & sun in the summertime!

I opened the gbstampalbum PDF using Libre Office in order to see if I could redo the PDF with pages in Letter format. It is possible but the layout with border still does not fit on letter size page. The border still bleeds over the edge. The good news I learned is that unlike Power Point if you change page size (my use was going from 4:3 to 16:9 slide format) it does not resize all elements on page - a good thing, The screenshot is from LibreOffice after trying to center all the elements on the page.

I redid quick layout to fit on Letter size page -quick and dirty. The space was just removed from between the elements vertically.

The purpose of my posts were to really to show that if you see an unlocked PDF you can edit them with available software to suit your needs if modest. Unlocked PDFs can be converted easily to other formats (powerpoint, etc) and then use those tools to modify. There are converters online (google PDF to PPT) or some applications like Word, Libre Office Draw, etc. can import PDFs to modify.

Thanks for that, coastwatcher . I never thought of paper type. I just bought cardstock. Hmm, maybe I should check out just what I have here. Uh-oh... at least all mine are mounted in mounts & not hinges. Don has some nice borders, but all his pages are set up for one sided printing, and I so like double-sided. I'll take a look anyway.
