I purchased this handheld microscope off Amazon on a lark. It was USD$14
Conclusion: OK.
At about 4-inches (100mm) tall it is pocket sized. It is well made and runs off a AA battery. It claims 60x to 120x magnification andhas a single LED for primary lighting but it cannot be adjusted. The image quality is decent but not what some of the reviews claimed. There is some glare and image contrast is lower than I would like. The image is inverted (top is now bottom) so moving around takes a little getting used to use.
