brightonpete - I found nothing to dislike. As to my personal preference, I would make the grid lighter and the stamp boxes in thinner rules. I am not a fan of catalog numbers on pages.
I like the map and also the text re the stamps.
Now find a cover or card showing postal use to go with the stamps!

Hey JeffS ... thanks for the nice comments. The grid is a part of the app, and just checking, I can change the the colour of the grid. It'll be a bit lighter in the next variation. The frames are 1 point but have tried 0.75mm and the AFSEC watermark was lightened a bit. Lessening the opacity makes the grid show through, but it still looks OK. I'll see how other pages come out...

While I am at it, here's the first page of my Lunar New Year collection.
Peter Peter - Is this something you can use for your Canada Lunar New Year collection?

Peter - Is this something you can use for your Canada Lunar New Year collection? I have the regular souvenir sheet, but that one is from the uncut press sheet. It's nice, and I could easily incorporate it into my album. How much do you want for it?

Finally have had a chance to start laying out more page keys for Canada, finished up 1976 tonight - about 6 pages total (3 double-sided Vario Pages) The Last page is only partial - will start 1977 issues at the bottom, which means moving from the Caricature-Landscapes Definitive era to the Flowers, Parliament and Cityscape Definitive Era.

Able to get 1977 worked up tonight. Last night of vacation, not sure when I will get time to work on pages again, probably not until my next week of vacation in June (I get 4 weeks paid vacation, bless the Union). Canada volume 4 now up to 15 1/2 pages (7 1/2 Vario 5 row pages). Hope to get up to 1981 with this volume, then start volume 5 with 1982 and the introduction of the Artifact Definitives. Breaking volumes by Definitive era seems a nice way to divide things, though not perfect since there is sometimes carryover from previous series (Caricature/Landscape series is mostly volume 3, but a few will be in this volume, like the 1977 Vancouver Skyline reissue)

After getting Colnect work caught up tonight, worked on getting Canada 1978 laid out, and mission accomplished.
22 Pages total for volume 4 - 11 5-row Varios for the stamp and now a 2-row Vario for the start of souvenir sheets/mini-sheets. Think I can make it to 1982 for this volume before having to start volume 5, but might be tight. Averaging 6 pages/3 Vario pages a year currently, plus now starting to get to era of more souvenir sheets/large booklets which will need their own separate Vario pages.

I think it really comes down to personal preferences, and there are a number of programs, some specifically for "album" pages and others which are desktop publishing packages.
I use Scribus for laying out pages- it is a free open source program and will run on all platform/operating systems. It takes a bit of trial; and error, but once you get the hang of it, pages go quickly. I have only used it for making pages for stamps, though it really is a full desk top publishing tool.
For images, I edit, add circles , lines insert text, etc., with Gimp, another free/open source program that does pretty much everything Adobe Illustrator will do (if you know AI, changing to Gimp does have some difference in how things are done and in some cases how they are described and found. As with any new software theres usually a learning curve.
Others use and/or prefer other programs. Scan an image, open Gimp and drag the .jpg (it accepts other formats), edit, save and export back to .jpeg, and then drag and drop that into image boxes in Scribus.

I'm in the process of creating pages for Denmark. Here's a sample - the first 2 pages for Denmark after the Loss of Schleswig Holstein - both pages for the 1864 Crown, Sceptre and Sword issue:

On vacation from work this week and as I am having a staycation this means I can actually go back to working on my Canada page inserts. Tonight I did 1979, adding another six pages (3 Vario Pages) to volume 4 for Canada.
Not sure how far I will get this week, should be able to finish Volume 4 (ending in 1981) but how far I start into Volume 5 not sure, depends how busy I get with Colnect work.

1980 and 1981 done - the power stayed on all night for a change! Now at 32 pages of stamps and 2 pages for sheetlets (making 16 Vario 5-row pages and 1 Vario 2-row page) so I think I will move forward and do 1982 (covering the 30c rate era) and maybe 1983 (start of the 32c Rate era). I don't want to overfill my albums, but I don't have endless space for my collection either, as as I move forward, the more larger pieces, sheetlets and booklet panes come, which means more pages needed per year. 1980 starts at bottom of first page, and 1982 ends with two rows on the last page.

And 1982 is all laid out, the with first group of the Artifact Definitives making their appearance. Looks like I should be able to fit 1983 in this volume so will end it there, should be about 25 double-sided pages total in the end.

And the pages for 1983. Total volume will have 19 2-sided 5-row vario pages, 1 2-row page, and 2 1-pocket pages. Now to start thinking about volume 5, covering 1984 to ....

[/span][/div][/quote] Great idea to consolidate all plate flaws for each volume in such a presentation. Makes for cleaner pages to keep the flaws seperate, in particular when the flaws are so plentiful as listed in Unitrade!!

Thanks stainlessb. I'm printing on ivory paper, 160 gr/m2. (The image shown is just a coarse jpg, generated from Powerpoint. For some reason those jpg's are made with very poor resolution. However the pages printed directly from Powerpoint gets nice and sharp).

One of the benefits of my page insert for Vario album method is that if I find a typo or miss a stamp that I need to insert, it's a quick fix - just tweak the page in Album Easy and reprint the page. No stamps are mounted on the inserts so no waste of stamp mounts, and I print the inserts on regular 8.5x11 paper (its kept in page holders, and the stamps are in Vario pockets, so should be minimal risk of acidic paper damage I would think) so not expensive paper loss.
