That's a nice collection you bought! I like that triangle stamp & the red swan, and the camels and this & that!
I wish there was something like that for sale around here. There's usually a dealer at the Trenton Stamp Club meetings, but I never saw anything worth bothering to pick up. Same with the lots members put up for auction.

Liking the COGH triangle 4p, and the 3x2 block of early South African stamps. There's a nice Queen Victoria early New Zealand there too, as well as a nice selection of George VI coronation stamps! Overall some nice early Commonwealth stamps - looks like you'll have fun sorting through these tobben63!

An interesting acquisition. Wish I had a place near me to find such an assortment.

What I collect: Worldwide - Stamps and Postmarks - not enough time...

Absolutely! Already on the 3rd line at the first page there's a hidden treasure. British India, Victoria 2A6P - postmarked in Aden! So, a forerunner used in Aden before seperate stamps were issued in Aden. Definetlively a keeper and much harder to find than beaten up COGH triangles. I also noted a few Hong Kong stamps with postmarks from the British treaty ports in China, so meaning they were not used in Hong Kong. Amongst them a nice 'Amoy' cancel, very sweet! Furthermore, several excellent Lahore cancels on Indian stamps. Now, why do I find that interesting? Lahore is not in present day India, but in Pakistan. So, these are Pakistan forerunners, issued before Pakistan issued their own stamps. Very nice. If you are not that interested in Pakistanis stuff tobben63, you definetlively know someone that will appreciate them! Congratulations on a fine selection! Well worth a trip to London

Note the two GB penny reds will have a Plate number printed in the sides . Friend stainlessb has a thread on these It is worth checking the numbers as whilst most are catalogued about £2 , some are £10 or more.
The lovely Samoa EXPRESS brown two shillings is a forgery I’m 😟 afraid.

Of course, I should have guessed that blaamand would have spotted lots of forerunner postmarks in the mix! Well done, Jon! I haven't looked them up, but those Treaty Port postmarks on HK stamps could be pretty valuable, as the interest in all China material has been on the upswing for years now. Anyway, congrats again to Tobben on getting a great lot from your visit to London!

Thanks Chris ( Beryllium Guy) Jon's ( blaamand) eagle eye don't miss much, and I surely need help to find and look up those postmarks. It's not easy to transform from a "spacefiller" collector to a active collector with an eye for all details. But this is for me whats make this hobby fare more interesting. I will have a closer look at the stamps Jon pointed out and the HK stamps you pointed out Chris. And of course, this hopefully makes me more aware to look at all other stamps in my over filled shelves. Will also post single scans of the named stamps in a thread where they belong.

Many thanks to renden for this lovely sheet featuring King Edward VIII. It is already in the Philatelic Exhibitions-Rest of World thread so I just wanted to show it again here. A beauty. Hyphen-rouletted, the sheet has a very nice design that Edward would have been proud of. I am not sure he would have been proud of the Royal goings-on today given what happened to him. Neither would I be. Anyway, here he is. Tarapex !
