Robert, I am an anti-social hermit with a small set of friends and a great distate for the behaviour of the rest of the human species, I have not yet known you long enough or well enough to consider you a friend. Be pleased however you are not an enemy. Trust me you would know if you were. If in the future I can help I will do so.

Having seen René's renden lovely cover with its Canadian Beaver (Scott n.º 4a), I was looking for a cover to share in the ' Let's See Your Classic Stamps on Cover 1851-1951' thread, but after having found a cover, made the scans, and then trying to attribute a shade name to the stamp, I discovered these when looking for comparable colour examples,
Canada's Small Queen Issue Scott n.º 44
Having looked at the known re-entry sites, I would come to learn that there is only one major re-entry listed. Given these two examples, unless they are variants of the same re-entry, there just might be more than one.
and here is another variant, this one I am not so sure about,
Canada's Small Queen Issue Scott n.º 44
Any thoughts, insights or additional details for any of these stamps and their apparent re-entries is appreciated...
Happy collecting!

Nice information stanley64...Nice 44's Here is one stamp i put up against a new stamp picture i borrowed to see the shading on the top of the left "8".
My 44b below does b=not have the shading as my one on the left above has...Interesting.

I wonder WERT if that shading from your stamp is not part of the cancel or handling en-route and not a result of the printing process itself?
As for the examples of Canada's Small Queen (n.º 44) I shared, after doing some additional reading, I am not convinced that they are the major re-entry from the issue, but instead are simply clichés or glitches from a well-worn printing plate.
Apparently the same plate was used for the entire run (1893-97) and I can well image that they would have become worn as result. For now, I am no longer convinced that these stamps are of the major re-entry i.e. Scott n.º 44ii), so before I embarrass myself further, I am just going to quietly put the stockbook of small queens back on the shelf for another day ;-)

If anyone has any additional thoughts or insights, please do share...
Thanks for looking and happy collecting!

I don't see the indication of re-entries as Ralph has in his re-entries.com web site.. See where my arrows are pointing....Just my observation my friend. None of my 44's have any re-entries on them also.
Robert You may be right..Shades of cancel ink.

Here is a Scott 211 "Princess Elizabeth" ....NOT in the normal catalouge, best identified in Ralph Trimble's re-entries.com. Check link - 3rd stamp down.
Anyways, below is the nice "Misplaced Entry". At the bottom is A BIG QUESTION.
Robert
NOW BIG QUESTION: It is in my wife small ring binder with about 50 stamps... I have not found one for myself yet.
How can i convince my wife to give it to me..HAHA

I think the operator creating the plate from the transfer roller was having a bad day when he initially laid this image down
