Hard to know where to start, since I have thousands of different ones. I contributed to books on postcards of the '37 Expo in Paris, and the series of White City expos in London before World War I.

Hi Randy:
Well, as the King said to the White Rabbit, "Start at the beginning and go on through to the end, and then stop." Seriously, I was thinking that maybe we could see some cards from the U.S. World's Fairs and Expositions. The Colombian Exposition or the Cotton States and International Exposition might be a good starting point for those of us in the U.S.

Welcome to TSF Randy randyt ! I look forward to you sharing and discussing some of your collection here, especially the International Expos / World's Fairs items... Perhaps this will whet your appetite a bit? 1939-40 Golden Gate Exposition on San Francisco's Treasure Island. Ecuador issued a beautiful set of stamps.... The general issue set shows the Mission Dolores in San Francisco...the airmail stamps feature the Golden Gate Bridge, but at an angle not usually depicted on stamps- and parked in front of an Ecuadoran volcano! Puerta de Oro = Gate of Gold, or as we call call it, Golden Gate First Day Cover

Thanks for sharing Randy!
Beautiful and I especially liked the FDC with its multiple stamps and their snow-covered "Marin County" mountains ;-)

Those overlapping letters in Correos del Ecuador give it a whimsical, latin flair, too. Kind of like Disney's 'Three Caballaros' musical cartoon of that same time, and Carmen Miranda. Definitely breaking out of a design mold for postage stamps of the 1930's. Ecuador's set for the 1939-40 New York World's Fair was obviously by the same designer.
