Here's a question: the first few pages are mounted in clear hingeless mounts. Then it changes to black. SHould I consider remounting the earlier stamps to black mounts for consistency or just leave as is?

Thanks for sharing bobstew617 , there are even one or two from the group that even look familar ;-) Given the stamps were issued from Australian Antarctic Territory (AAT), the land of ice and snow, another option would be to change out the black mounts for clear, which I think is the more visually appealing. Lucky lad...
Happy collecting!

I find the clear mounts more visually appealing on the white pages.

definitely two of the highlights of this collection are the 2 overprinted souvenir sheets from 1995, for SINGAPORE '95 and CAPEX '96, respectively.

I was also able to snatch at auction the set of ANARE issues, penguins and aurora australes, and the whole set about scientific activities, what's not to like?

Just giving this thread a bump to let kevinv, marbles, and rod222 know that I have merged the new thread started by Kevin into this pre-existing one, which is found in the Antarctica board rather than in Australian States. Thanks for your understanding.

Going to do some more research on it, but decided to share. I now have an Antarctica stamp in my collection. That is cool kevinv ;-) Stamps of the Antarctic can form a collection all of their own and polar philately is an interesting area with plenty of other collectors.
For yourself or anyone else that is interesting and some extra time, here are a couple of links worthy of exploring,
Exploring Stamps, "An Australian Antarctic Territory stamp gets a discussion going about claiming sovereignty over land and who owns Antarctica."
Have fun and happy collecting!

2001 Text is light and hard to read, printed on the gum (assumption). This sheet is also available (Mint) without printing on the back I think?
